Mo Bamba committed to Texas. Nice that we won't have to see him in a UK jersey... but we still have to play him lol

Texas now moved ahead of us to #4 in the 247 composite rankings. We dropped to #6. We'll likely drop to #7 after Mizzou lands MPJ's brother.

2018 PG Jared Butler talks recruitment

quote:

“Alabama and Texas text me about every day and the Houston head coach calls me twice a week, telling me what I need to work on and stuff like that,” Butler said. Among the things that stand out about Alabama is Avery Johnson. “NBA point guard who played and coached in the NBA, so that’s what I like about Coach Avery,” he said.

I don't see why kids haven't jumped off the Smart wagon. They had the 5th ranked class last year including a big that is going to go lottery and the 17th the year before which included a top 5 transfer (and their leading scorer) and 2 other top 50 wings. All that shouldn't add up to winning just a third of their games and being the worst team in their conference.

I'm glad he went there instead of UK though. If UK doesn't add any more, we have a legitimate shot at winning the conference. If they lose Diallo, they're going to be the worst they've been since their NIT year.

Yeah I'm glad Bamba didn't go to UK. They would've been unbeatable with him

Meh. I don't think they would have been any better than last year's team. They would have been better defensively, but they wouldn't have had anywhere close to the same level of offense. If Diallo doesn't return, that UK offense could struggle mightily.

I was slightly exaggerating, but yeah I feel like there's a chance they could drop off some from last season

Apparently a pretty good poster on TI just said Key will be back. I don't ever go on that site but that's what someone told me.

Really not that high on Mack but if he is competitive and holds guys accountable(puts his foot up guys asses for sucking) I'm all don't for it.

If Collin returns for year 2 we are Final Four contenders in 2019. That team is looking stacked.

I'm guessing Mack has to register for school at the end of this month? I don't want him to have time to back out

I think he has to be signed up and part of the team by May 28th or somewhere near that date. I remember hearing Avery say the team would meet together for a team dinner or something

Here's a Bama Hoops interview from BOL with Jerry Meyer. LINK

The feeling as of this morning was that he was leaning heavily toward returning to Alabama for the 2017-2018 season.

There's a ton of stuff in there about Key, Mack, Sexton, and the 2017-18 season. It's worth reading.

I don't think we have anything to worry about. As stated before he's tight with Rosemond. UGA was a close 2nd to landing Mack out of HS.

From what I've heard Rosemond is a really big hire. Doubt we'd let Simon go for just anybody.

Continue hearing good things on Stewart and Woodard. Staff sees Stewart as an active wing with a lot of athleticism. Woodard is very physical and has a lot of pro-Bama family. Losing Simon hurts but hopefully Rosemond or whoever can pick up slack.

Asked if we'd bring in Mack with Stewart and Woodard at the same time. Was told yes. Stewart and Woodard possess different skill set and Mack is in different class.

Y'all are going to like the schedule.

I'm not that high on Stewart honestly. He's definitely athletic though
