He was the first, but to be fair, he changes his predictions a lot. He actually picked Ferguson to us after Avery's first visit with him, went back to Kansas, and then back to Alabama.

Jerry Meyer is about to do a Basketball Recruiting Q&A on BOL.. 2 weeks before football starts. This isn't real life.

Jerry's CB prediction was based on some info he got that Tony (and those around him) aren't as nearly as high on UNC as some think. He says Florida and Miami are heavily in the mix. He said the prediction was more based on that he was no longer picking UNC, not that Alabama was the front runner. But he must be confident that we can step in and take over.

We are an unlikely destination for Bolden and Kegler. Jerry doesn't think we have much chance with either.

I think Kegler had already cut his list at some point so I'm not sure why he's been mentioned.

Bolden has always been a pipe dream but after landing Ferguson, I don't think I'll count out the staff recruiting anyone

Thanks for the info

Said over the summer that he heard from an assistant who was recruiting Kobie Eubanks that his eligibility was "dicey". So that's great. Hopefully he makes it in.

Jerry Myer:

I don't have anything new on this topic. Just know that this summer it was dicey in regards to his eligibility. Got this from an assistant who was recruiting him. Still needed three classes at the time. Going to Our Savior New American was a waste for him. None of those credits counted I was told. Cheick Diallo at Kansas is dealing with this now

Cecil didn't sound optimistic about Eubanks qualifying. Have the mods on 247 said anything?

I think today is the critical deadline and the fact that he is not enrolled tells you what you need to know. As I said last week, the coaches were not optimistic.

He was supposed to start class today. Someone on Bol posted this about him:
quote:

He did not start today and there is not a great deal of optimism within the program that he is going to be cleared for this semester.

Yeah that dude took what Cecil said and switched the wording up a bit. I'm hoping Watts will comment on it.

Kinda figured this was going to happen. It's going to be interesting to see how well we do this year. Right now I'd say an NIT invite might be an unreasonable expectation to have and an above .500 really record might be a pretty solid accomplishment.

P.S. when has there ever been good news that wasn't followed immediately by bad news for our program?
