He's a slasher though they say his shooting has improved this year. He's got great length at the guard spot, especially if he can stay at the point.

HOw we as BB fans have fallen to get this worked up over a 3 star recruit. Post not meant at anyone in particular, but with the departure of a few this was a "huge" get. I hope AJ has a few up his sleeve to help with depth

I'm happy we got him and all..

However, it sounds like Kentucky didn't even offer and he was previously committed to UA. Don't think this is CAJ doing anything magical. However, hoping as mrbroker said that he's got some things coming in the future.

He's the first recruit to commit in a new era of Alabama basketball.

I don't care how many stars he has, it's exciting regardless.

ETA: #4 player in the state to boot.

People that expect him to be the 2nd coming are ridiculous, sure. But in a position of need, it's a pretty big deal to land Mr. Basketball.

He is the best player in state. Wish you would let the star gazing go. If you can play you can play.

Even if you look at the rankings. He may be a three star. But he's #183 on 247 & #222 on the composite. That's not too shabby.

So coming back/in next year we have:

C- Jimmie Taylor (Willy Kouassi maybe)
PF- Mike Kessens/Donta Hall/Jeff Garrett
SF- Riley Norris/Shannon Hale/Brandon Austin
G- Retin Obasohan/Dazon Ingram
PG- Justin Coleman

Am I forgetting anybody? That would leave us three spots open edit- 2 with Kouassi

That's right. Though I'd call Austin a 2-3 tweener and Garrett more of a 3.

I feel like Johnson has done more interviews in a week than Grant did in 6 years.

I don't see the big deal about Ingram at all. Drama queen if you ask me. He had no other Big 5 offers besides Alabama, but then starts this de-commitment circus by claiming Calipari called him. We all knew he was going to sign with Alabama becuase we were his best offer. And who the hell puts a Kentucky hat on the table without a UK offer? Sounds like he likes attention a bit too much.

offers a kid gets means more than a star rating. so the 3 star rating apparently is right. Someone talked about him being a stud because he was Mr. Alabama in BB. I researched those studs and while there are good names on that list there are only a few that were world beaters and just a small handful in the past 20 years that made it to the league. NOw show me a Mr. BB in NC and you might be able to blow smoke up my skirt. With that being said I am not dissing our new recruit, but I am not about to declare him the savior to bama BB

Nothing different from what football kids do. Don't know why you guys are bitching. Any excitement is good for the program. Calapari contacted the kid probably told him that if the chips fall right he could get a offer and it didn't happen. Damn cant be happy to get the best player in state for his class?

Who in this thread has called him a stud? Once again, people are happy because he's at a position of need and he's one of the best players still on the market.
