I don't have a membership with Perfect Game, but they have some teaser article on some recruiting success for Alabama.

A 2013 C/1B...

A 2015 P from Mississippi.

The game is at 11 CST Friday morning and will be televised by ESPNU just in case anybody didn't know. We'll be starting Charley Sullivan. The article I saw didn't say who Troy is throwing, but by looking at their stats their top two starters appear to be Tanner Hicks (3.47, 8-3) and Shane McCain (3.53, 8-1) so I'd imagine it'll be one of them. They also have a very solid reliever/closer in Nate Hill. All three of those guys are right at or above one K per inning pitched, so simply putting the ball in play could go a long way Friday.

Obviously the regional is double elimination, but it's very difficult to come out of the losers bracket if you don't win your first two (even though we did it in Gaspard's first year) so Friday is a huge game.

Also, Shane McCain is an awesome name.

I forgot we started regional play today. Now work just got a little more exciting we're up 1-0 in the 4th

The dancing banana was about work. Regardless the baseball gods frowned at that bc it's 5-1 Troy now

Solid 5.2 of scoreless relief from Guilbeau. He's done a nice job giving our offense a chance to battle back and saving the rest of our pen. Now we need to rally.

No surprise that we'll be playing Savannah St tomorrow. I was hoping Florida St would somehow lose so we'd only have to deal with them once coming out of the losers bracket.

We still can I think. If we win today and Florida State loses to Troy then we would play Florida State Sunday afternoon.

Yea that's correct.

We're starting Mike Oczypok this morning, which is the right thing to do. If we're going to win the regional, we need Turnbull to go deep in the first game tomorrow to save our bullpen for the second game we'd have to play tomorrow night. So while saving Turnbull is a gamble, it's a necessary one if we are to have any chance at all of winning this thing. I'm excited to see Oczypok throw again, hopefully he builds on his phenomenal start last week against LSU and really gains confidence for next year.

Oczypok gets them in order with two strike outs in the first. Roberts leadoff with a double, but we failed to advance him past second. We have to get the offense going against these scrubs if we want to have any pipe dream of making noise in this regional beyond today.

looking toward next near with the OZ coming on as a starting pitcher, how do you see the rotation next year and what is going to be out top 5 starting pitchers, our top long relief and our closer? Thanks

Our pitching staff will be very deep next year. Sullivan and Trey Pilkington are the only senior pitchers on the roster. So with respect to Trey, Sullivan is really the only loss. Turnbull will be back, as will Kamplain and Keller who both started some Sunday games in the SEC this year. The way he's pitched lately you'd have to think Oczypok will be given a chance. Taylor Guilbeau has all kinds of talent but has yet to put it all together. Hopefully the 5.2 scoreless innings of relief he threw yesterday are a sign of things to come. At the back end, Castillo has been tremendous since taking over the closer role. He's only a freshman and has shown signs of wearing down lately. He took that role over from Hubbard when he was injured, and Hubbard will also be back.

Roberts, Booth, and Miller are all we're losing in the field. Roberts will hurt, but we have Wass coming back to replace Booth (though Booth is a beast defensively) and Miller has been a disappointment.

All in all, we should be very formidable next season in the SEC if the young players continue to improve.

Finally break through with 2 runs on 3 hits in the fourth. Smith had a big rbi double and Booth drove in the second run. 2-0 going to the bottom of the 4th.

Had to hold on, but we survive another day. Have Turnbull to throw tomorrow at 11. Hopefully Troy beats FSU tonight so we'll play FSU in the morning and only have to beat them once.

Kamplain will start today. Save Turbull for a potential match-up with Florida State?

Troy's pitching is about had it. And they are likely without their best hitter for this game.
