I want to say that I believe he has done a fantastic job as our AD. I have heard a rumor though that he is Texas A&M's top choice to become their AD, and that there is strong belief that he would take it if offered. I would hate for him to go

Yep. Sure would hate to lose him. Except for a couple of programs , our athletics are strong across the board and I am liking his hires

Oh that is great to hear if true. I think he has done a fantastic job with the coaches minus a few sports. I think he could have done better in swimming and Volleyball but his success rate is so good that he is allowed to have a few stinkers in there. Sorry MoarKilometers

Alabama has a better all round sports program than A&M. That would be a step down

No way I'm going to a school that fired my dad.

Even if they hand you $10-12 Million?

I REALLY hope Byrne doesn’t go! I think he’s doing a pretty decent job at UA.

But - fans think if sports as a religion. Everyone else knows it’s a business.

And we have no idea IF aggsy really wants Byrne, or how Badly they want him.
BUT If they throw down the same sort of INSANE offer they made to Jimblo Fulmer a few years ago, AND the working conditions are acceptable (that is, he can tolerate the University President and the biggest boosters). Then he WILL go.

If a senior executive at Microsoft gets an insane offer from Google; or a senior executive at Fird gets an insane offer from GM - they go, and no one questions it. Because we realize it’s a Business.

Well so is “college” athletics.

He's been at Alabama a while, places get boring after some years. Keep moving and everything seems to not get stale.

Byrne already did the hardest thing any AD will ever do - replace the greatest football coach in history.

His next stop, IMHO, is commissioner of the SEC or some other P5 conference.

the record speaks for itself. A&M doesn't have anything close to that

I remember being jealous of uf when they had Jeremy Foley or Louisville when they had Jurich.

If he does leave I would think it’s Saban’s job if he wants it.

Hope Byrne stays tho

Rather hire Tom Jurich or a guy like Brian Hardin at Drake. He's impressive and already has ties with Darian Devries in case Oats ever leaves.
