Nice to see Hale and Coop working on the boards too. All those boards makes me think there was a whole lot of misses for both sides.

Are the scores of these games indicative of an actual increased pace or just the fact that the Euro shot clock is 24 seconds, which artificially increases the pace?

I want to believe that we are picking up the pace, but this is certainly the safe bet.

I'm leaning that way too. I'd like to at least think Grant could recognize that we score more points when we play fast, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

As much as I wish that were the case, I highly doubt that is the reason unfortunately.

Bryant...which of the Bama players have the best chance of actually getting drafted?

None I don't think. Maybe Releford or Retin if he improves his game. I think Levi would have the 3rd best but we have a bunch of European league type players.

If Releford was like 3 inches taller and could develop more of a shot..I think he could for sure get drafted..but ain't none of that happening except maybe the shot. Thanks man.

Colorado played the European tour last year and Gembo beat them. Colorado was a tourney team last year.

I think Releford's only shot of getting drafted is showing scouts some semblance of court vision this year. If he can average something around 15 ppg and 5 apg, he'd have a shot in the 2nd round.

I think Retin just needs to work on his passing ability to have a shot in the 2nd round before his college career is over. Wouldn't hurt for him to develop some better court vision as well. Time is on his side and his work ethic is unmatched.

Randolph needs to show some aggression on offense. His defensive ability and athleticism will probably get him some looks in the 2nd round.

Cooper needs consistency and some confidence in his shot. He might have the best shot at the 1st round, but the mental parts of the game are usually the hardest things to fix.

Here's the recap from RollTide.com:
quote:

ANTWERP, Belgium - The Alabama men's basketball team used a 13-4 run late in the fourth quarter to slip past Gembo, 86-79, on Tuesday night.

With the win, the Crimson Tide improves to 2-0 on its European Tour, which includes an 85-68 win over Meppel (Netherlands) on Saturday night.

The decisive run was sparked by three three-pointers that turned a 73-73 contest into an 86-77 game with 1:31 remaining. Senior guard Trevor Releford scored eight of his game-high 24 points during the spurt, including a pair of threes. Releford also added a team-high six assists and a pair of steals.

Sophomore guard Retin Obasohan, a native of Antwerp, Belgium, finished with six points, three assists and three steals. He played in front of approximately 100 of his friends and family.

Junior forward Nick Jacobs added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, including scoring 12 points in the second half. Junior guard Rodney Cooper collected 11 points and eight rebounds, while freshman Shannon Hale added six points and eight boards in the victory.

The Tide will have a quick turnaround as it plays the Antwerp Giants II on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. local time (noon CDT).

To follow that game and for more information, follow Alabama men's basketball on twitter, instagram and facebook (@AlabamaMBB).

They didn't give an assist total for Releford last game, but Cooper did say Releford was doing a great job distributing the ball. I'm starting to get excited about Releford you guys. If he can start distributing like this in the regular season, it would be huge for us. It'd be huge for him too as an NBA prospect, as that is the one area in his game that is lacking.

Highlights vs. Gembo

At 2:16...is Jacobs actually using his right hand to put up a shot?

No he isnt lol. That was Hale. Im really impressed with the Big Swede from the highlights. The way he has improved is crazy. He is setting back screens and getting boards and going back up and dunking. Never thought I wouldve saw that. I love the way the younger guys actually box out and put a body on people. I also think the player that would get drafted is Coop. He is 6'7 can shoot it and if he gets to stay at the wing instead of the 4 scouts will love him. Not to mention his defensive ability. Still think we are shooting too many 3s though.

That makes more sense then. Haha. On some of the plays I have trouble identifying the players.

Remember you are watching highlights, so they are probably putting all of the made 3s in there.

That was Jimmy Taylor. Ive seen some AAU highlights and he takes that shot pretty regularly. Also seems like Key gets to the hole when he wants and plays great defense.
