Lol

BAMA isn't going anywhere as long as someone with Murphy's prestige or better is HC. Alabama is recruiting as consistently as ever and just played in the WCWS finals last season against Auburn...oh wait no they didn't.

Auburn won the SEC tournament last year, was closer to the WCWS finals than Alabama was last year, they have the SEC player of the year, and they're playing for back to back tournament titles tomorrow. I understand we won the title in 2012, but you can't deny that Auburn has been better than Alabama since Myers arrived. I believe it's only a matter of time before he wins a title at Auburn.

I remember when Auburn was an easy win. Nothing but respect to them for hiring the best guy for the job.

But he's in his 70s. Won't coach there long. Murph is just getting started. He could coach another 20 years at Alabama. He's not even 50.

How many players do we have returning next year? That '12 team had a ton of experience.

Both pitchers will be back. McCleney, Hawkins and Dare will be gone.

As will Leona Lafelle, if I'm correct.

Still good to have both pitchers coming back.

Hell, losing in the SECT isn't bad. Rest the pitchers, prepare for the regionals, and maybe they'll get hot. You never know.

both of Myers sons are his asst coaches. They would be primed to take over for him dont you think. AU is a power in WCSB for years to come. We will be too but right now they are on top. We need a stud pitcher as right now we have good but not great.

I realize that. But how often does succession work? Especially with family.

Myers is 64 and has said he wants to coach at least to 2020. While Murph has done great things for Alabama, it is at least a little troubling that he has seemingly fallen behind an instate rival that had never won a regional until last season.

girls SB is not like other sports in the NCAA so I would think succession would not be a problem as the sons are obviously good at what they do. Recruiting is the lifeblood of any sport. When Murph decides to hang it up I hope they give it to one of his long time assistants.

If Au has great success before he retires they will have people begging to take over for him.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. No need to overreact just yet. Alabama and Florida are still the only SEC programs with national titles.

Because they lost to Auburn, twice in the SECT, they have some how fallen behind and Auburn is now a softball super power with only 1 SR win in program history? Lol talk about overreacting

Not at all.

Alabama will still compete for a trip to OKC. But Auburn has owned Alabama the last two years. They've won more and have more to show for it.

Myers is a better coach than Murphy. He has more titles and results.

Again. Murph is just getting started. He built this program from nothing. And when the SEC was an after thought. Stop panicking.

Bama did take the regular season series over Auburn last year and it took a massive comeback in game 3 for Auburn to avoid the sweep.

We just need to keep on as we are doing. We have a damn strong program.

Murphy is the reason the rest of the SEC has stepped up their softball. Florida and Bama put the SEC on the map along with Tennessee and Georgia. I'm not saying we need to run him off. I just think Myers is a better coach and our road to a title will be much more difficult as long as he's at Auburn.
