Number 1 ranked women's golf team started their post season today in regional play at Shoal Creek in Birmingham. They have to finish within the top 6 teams after 3 rounds in order to advance to the National Championship. LINK

It was announced today that the men are the 4 seed in their regional which is hosted by Alabama at Ol'Colony in Tuscaloosa in 2 weeks. They will need to place in the top 5 to advance to their National Championship. This would be a good event to attend if you're able (there are 5 SEC teams in the field). LINK

Women's team took care of business and advanced to the NCAA Championship in Oregon. Good work ladies

*interesting side note about the women's NCAA championship, BYU qualified and will be unable to play the stroke play round on that Sunday as it is against their by laws. They will be playing the additional stroke play round the same day everyone else is playing a practice round, with Sunday hole locations.

Women's team got behind on Day 1. Was worried that they wouldn't make it, but eventually pulled through. Shoal Creek is a tough course I've heard.

The men are in 5th after round 1, low 5 teams advance to NCAA's. I'm sure they weren't to happy with the round yesterday on the home track. They just tee'd off in round 2 playing with Aub's and UNLV. Aub's are on the outside looking in right now.

UAB is likely to qualify, too. Would be a nice showdown if we could meet in match play. Highly improbable though.

The Regional is 54 holes so they have one round left to play tomorrow, but yes it looks good since they are 17 strokes ahead of 6th place.

Men and Women both qualified for the National Championship Tournament which will be in Eugene Oregon.

Shelton is going to have to play a lot better if we want a chance at winning next week. I was out there on Tuesday and he was really struggling with his putter. We'll need him and Davis Riley to play their best to keep up with the other elite teams.

He, Riley, and Lovelady are our main 3 that carry the team. Not as talented as the 2012 team with Mullinax, Wyatt, Thomas, and Shelton.

The women's team is in 2nd place right now, 1 under par. UCLA is one stroke ahead.
