For the folks that have been to a final, there are 2 Omaha experiences - opening weekend and finals weekend.
Opening weekend is a celebration of college baseball. 8 teams, 8 fanbases, energy around town that the series is back. Locals are into it. Everyone has hope that this is the year.
Finals weekend is all about baseball. The Friday off day really separates the start from the end. Most of the fair atmosphere around the park winds down. It’s down to a really important weekend series between 2 teams/fanbases at that point. Totally different feel to it.

‘94 was 0-2 and had the doors blown off in the 2nd game. That was a great team too.

I don’t think you understand. At LSU, 0-56 is the same as losing the championship series. Call it disappointing. Call it embarrassing. It’s the same result. They didn’t win a championship.
I wonder if the Omaha afternoon crowd will give Bama a lazy ovation if they scratch one across on Monday.
