re: Class of 2027 Football Recruiting

frick him and anyone else who associates with that trash program.
He did both. I think calling it a character flaw is underselling that kind of behavior a bit, but regardless of your feelings about the situation or him personally it's objectively ridiculous to let a sports betting addict be a fricking D1 starting QB straight out of rehab.

Now that you've completed your 12th step you're ready to go work at a bar.

Todd Graves and Gordon McKernan….nothing like giving 17 year olds millions of dollars to play college football while Louisiana ranks at the top of the list in most violent crime, 49th worst education system, dead last in streets/infrastructure, most traffic collisions, along with topping the charts in obesity rates and diabetes.

Nothing like funding a semi-pro football team with money that comes from a combination of children hospitals that are State-run, a larger than life injury lawyer, and a chicken finger restaurant chain.

They seriously are 100% okay with letting the entire State of Louisiana burn to the ground if it means reaching the CFP. It’s freaking pitiful

But as soon as you suggest that perhaps we simply tax the shite out of these people so they can't pour millions of dollars into their personal vanity projects, buying up media outlets, and funding political candidates anymore it's literally communism.
You cannot seriously believe that a guy who bet against his own team multiple times deserves sympathy or a second chance. It's not like he was just playing a bunch of online poker or betting on MLB games and got carried away.
I'm sorry but seeing y'all use batting average as a measure of a player's productivity is very frustrating. It's just a meaningless stat these days. .245/.350/.515 is substantially more productive than .325/.360/.400. They are on base at roughly the same rate, but one of these guys is an impatient singles hitter who runs into the occasional gapper or HR and the other is an extremely patient power bat that more than makes up for the lack of total hits with the fact that he works counts and hits for power.
When I say compelling I mean him personally. He left school early because he couldn't make NIL money as a Canadian and wanted to come back and play for that exact same school without having played in an NBA game. That's so much more sympathetic of a person than some 26 year old European who has played professionally since he was 17 and never had any interest in attending college, for free, in Europe.
It's really fricked up that we got the one judge against all this shite even though Bediako's individual circumstances are so much more compelling than the vast majority of these eligibility lawsuits.
I thought getting caught placing bets on games your team participated in was supposed to be automatic permanent ineligibility.

As a side note, I'm starting to strongly dislike Texas Tech. They've never been shite in anything ever, but now are being bankrolled into relevance with rosters built entirely out of mercenaries.

but television wants these things then gets us stuck in weather delays where the coverage returns to the ocho

I'd love to see an analysis of how often coverage starts on time and on the advertised network. Seems like at this point it's 50/50 at best after the early game.

Seeing Lance Cormier sitting in the stands wearing Auburn gear is a damn travesty. How the hell did we let his son go play for the barn?

If my kid went to Auburn on an athletic scholarship I'd go to the games, but in neutral gear. Just one man's opinion though. I love them all, but you’ll never see me wearing any of that trash.
I considered Clemson back in the day. Went to check it out and everything. "Auburn with a lake" is more of a factual description than people realize.
Probably just an informal offer contingent upon camping or putting on a bunch of weight or something. He heard "we'd like you to be part of our program" and ignored the next bit about "but we need to see you up close at one of our camps this summer".

Try again.
Never any doubt. I understand why people freaked out, but from a prosecutorial standpoint a young guy with no priors and no guns getting popped for weed in even a felony amount is less consequential than a DUI. He was always going to get some kind of diversion or youthful offender status.
Every school has a couple of non-revenue sports that the fans would revolt over being threatened, much less cut entirely, but football and men's basketball are what most of the boosters care about, and while the AD doesn't officially work for the boosters their job security is largely determined by the boosters.
Maybe. I think Elon is legitimately fricked in the head though. Not like mentally ill or anything, but he's pretty much exactly what you'd expect to come from his circumstances. His grandfather was a Nazi sympathizer. He grew up with wealth and privilege in apartheid South Africa. His father and step-sister are now married and have children together. His mother is the kind of woman who repeatedly goes on TV and social media to tell people to stop being so mean to her 54 year old son. I can absolutely see him being the kind of guy who wants people to think he's Tony Stark and then when he realizes that isn't happening decides to make them all pay by becoming Red Skull.

because he’s cosplaying being a cool kid after growing up a balding autistic nerd

I would say he's not fooling anyone, but we live in the dumbest country on the planet.

Maybe, if everyone works out

Considering it is essentially predicting that Holloway is on the team at all, 3rd try is the charm and we finally get major production out of Garrison, and Jemison takes a big step forward, I'd say the 4-8 is probably based on the everything turning up Gump dream scenario we all cook up in August.
I thought Philon used his freebie draft entry last year. Don't you only get to pull your name out once?
I don't actually see a ton of speed in his game. He's not slow or anything, but he doesn't have that explosive first step guys like Kira and Sexton did. He gets into the lane by having really, really quick feet with the ball on a string. Seems to shake off contact well for a smaller guard too, albeit against prep competition. He's going to eat in the pick and roll.

And a lot of the impoverished people who should be pissed off are brainwashed.

And they were really easy to wash with those uniformly smooth surfaces. Trump was the inspiration for Biff Tannen. His future rise to the Presidency was a joke on the Simpsons 25 years ago. He was a punchline for years between the hair, the bankruptcies, the constant failed attempts at turning his name into a brand of its own, saying insane shite to the media like "I guess I have the tallest building now" immediately after 9/11 or speculating about how big his infant daughter's breasts would end up being, and basically everything else that made him such a sad, bizarre, sleazy caricature of a man. The ease with which he then immediately suckered tens of millions of people into thinking he cares not just about America, but about them personally, and has the foresight to lead us to a bright new future is going to be studied for decades. Hopefully not just in other countries while our children learn about him the way North Koreans learn about the Kims.
