A Samsung washer we had played a digital song as it finished for all of the 8 months it ran.
I'll watch if there isn't a college baseball, Texas Rangers or NHL game on TV. The basketball and college track is over, NHL could be over today. Could watch a CFL game over it, but I'll probably watch some soon.
The Ballpark in Arlington. Haven't seen it since the F1 race they had there.
I guess ole Freddy fooled JJ Watt. JJ has probably never been anywhere but Houston. So gullible. Obvious pandering Friend.

The same is true for the cops. The situation you described sounds like one where they might have been tipped off about someone possibly planting explosives or something that would be extremely dangerous. Don't F with the police or military when they on on high alert. They have a job to do.

ETA: It's like trying to talk to a football coach before or during a game. Wait until the game is over to go say hi.
Glad the US won, but I didn't watch it.

It's because the gun wasn't in a holster. When carrying a gun in a vehicle in Texas, it cannot be in plain sight unless it's in a holster. The article says it was in plain sight and not in a holster. It's a misdemeanor.

I was in the outfield at the Rangers old Arlington stadium when Nolan Ryan had a no hit game for seven innings.

Reality Bites and Singles are both quintessential Gen X.
Exactly. Movies like Reality Bites and Slacker aren't most Boomers cup of tea, Some of the people that think these movies are great blame the decline of American society on us Boomers. On the OT Board they are ready to retire us all on reduced Social Security benefits. I'm sure some folks from younger generations wish we'd all just die.

I yelled at Barry before the steroid issues were common knowledge. I was a Ranger fan and more of a Griffy guy.

I yelled something stupid like, "Look out Bonds, it's coming your way!", at the beginning of the bottom of the 1st inning of MLB's 1st regular season Interleague game in 1997. Sat with a friend's dad in his seats three rows from the field in center/left field. They were just to the left of the yellow sign next to the out-of-town scoreboard.

No one on TCM said that. I just made it up because I'm a Boomer that reads the OT Board. I just assumed we get the blame for ruining life in America.

ETA:
I kind of thought the people that like Reality Bites and Slacker think that way.

They had Do the Right Thing, now Reality Bites, Later Slacker, River's Edge Reckless and Oxford Blues.

They're calling it "Boomer's Suck" Night.

I did a Warner Brothers studio tour with a friend who was an SMU grad. An SMU film school professor set the tour up for us. It was my buddy and I and seven French directors, camera men and other film professionals. We got to watch them adding road noises and birds chirping to the wrecker truck chase scene. We also got to go into the Foley Room and saw and heard what noises were made from each little compartment.

When we got to the street front exterior that they use for movies shot on the lot, they were painted with bright trim in red, yellow, green and blue. They told us the buildings were painted for the Dick Tracy movie they had just finished shooting. They said the same street front had used with different facades in movies and TV shows since the 40's.

They showed us another outside area where they had shot scenes for Christmas Vacation. This was just mockups to shoot from outside into different rooms of Clark's house window. One of the windows had a Dominos sticker on it. When I saw the movie in the theater, I never saw a damn Dominos sticker. It really pissed me off.
Justified is a great show. The relationship between Raylan and Boyd is probably the best, and one of the most adversarial friendships, in all of fiction. If you're someone who spent too much time on the sketchy side of town you might have similar ones. Season five of Justified was like an episode of Breaking Bad that featured a lot of Walt Jr. It sucked.

Even though Breaking Bad jumped the shark when they siphoned a tanker car on a moving train, and killed a kid for watching, they never had one bad season like that one.

I remember him in 'The Virdict'. He was Kevin Doneghy, the brother-in-law of the lady who had been made a vegetable by the tired doctor. He lashed out at Paul Newman's Frank Galvin character for not taking the settlement that the Archdiocese of Boston offered.

Kevin Doneghy: You guys... you guys are all the same! The doctors at the hospital, you... it's always what I'm going to do for you. And then you screw up, and it's, "Ah, we did the best that we could, I'm dreadfully sorry." And people like us live with your mistakes the rest of our lives.

I think L.A.'s picture is of him when he was mad at Galvin.I couldn't find that pic except for an encripted version.
Damn, I'd forgotten Norv Turner lasted six years as the Chargers Coach.

If you're an LSU fan you picked the right team to pull for!

I knew LSU WR Terrence Toliver and OL Peter Dyakowski (LSU graduate who was crowned "The Smartest Man in Canada") played there in the 2010's because I watched them on ESPN2 & CBS Sports Network, and followed them on X.

Looked it up & these LSU guys played there too.

Tory Collins
Michael Ford
Daniel Francis
Mark Hall
Jerry Janes
Jeremy Lawrence
Jordan Moore
Drake Nevis
Don Newman

You drank coffee as a kid?

Been a coffee drinker since I was about 6 years old.
My mom let us have it with milk in elementary school. Someone gave my dad four mugs with "For my coffee break" written on them. After you finished your coffee this message was stamped on the bottom of the inside of the cup: "BACK TO WORK" We got them. We always said "Back to work" when we finished them. They had us trained like little seals at an early age.

Mowed yards down the street for money in 5th and 6th grades too.

wonder if guys back in the 40's were as perplexed as myself at how a short, unattractive, gruff looking dude was pulling in so much tail.
It was different back then because a man being pretty wasn't important to women when men were their sole providers. Neither sex was as shallow as people have become. Being someone they got along with and thought they could love was more important. Nobody was posting their life on the internet with filters or getting plastic surgery.
