Honest question. I remember him being a nice player and hitting some big shots when he was at Bama.

Just wondering why he transferred since I just saw that he hit a buzzer-beating game winner for NC State today.

I remember reading somewhere that Gottfried was one of the first coaches to offer him and he still followed him after he resigned while Lacy was still in HS.

In search of better coaching.

Bama messed up firing the best coach they ever had.

He didn't like Grant's offense. I don't blame him for leaving

Because he's smart enough to realize change is needed for everyone.

I'll always cheer for him for believing in Alabama and giving it a try when he has better options. And i'll never blame another kid for leaving state anymore after we wasted that great class we signed with him and Levi.

Grant is shite. I used to not like Boogie Cousins because he left state. Then I realized he wanted to go to UAB until Davis was out and looked at our dumpster fire and said NOPE. I don't blame you Boogie.

The best coach Bama ever had got fired for banging and later roughing up the help.

In fairness, why did the rest of the team stay?

Because he didn't like Grant. Grant told him he wasn't going to use a basketball in practice, and Lacey said "Coach, we gotta give it a try for once. Lets just try practicing on our shooting". Grant said no, turned into a lycan from Underworld, and began the war on basketball hoops across America.

I can't figure out if you keep posting this as some sort of jab/troll or if you actually believe it?

It's a troll and then another Arkansas fan will post about 1994. It's like clockwork year after year.

Gottfried went 83-82 in the SEC overall, including 14-23 in the league his last 3 seasons with 1 NIT and 0 NCAAs. His last 3 teams were 63 (9 of 12 in SEC), 85 (8 of 12 in SEC), 96 (9 of 12 in SEC) in KenPom. He stunk and deserved to be fired.

Just a weird troll.

Bingo!...and on top of all that, he is a total prick. There weren't a hand full of people at Alabama or in Tuscaloosa who could stand the bastard. He was a spoiled, egotistical prima donna who enjoyed being an a-hole...besides that, he was alright.
And Lacey wouldn't play defense...he was lazy.

Yeah, it's popular to pile on Grant right now but I recall Alabama fans complaining endlessly about Lacey.

I don't want to say he was lazy, but his he wanted his main energy to be spent on the offensive end. That did not mesh with Grant's style and lead to inevitable clashes.
