for conduct detrimental to the team. what are the chances they actually are successful with this? looks very much like they just tried to drum up a lousy pretext to get out of paying him. Especially if he actually had some kind of family emergency going on. Trent should be calling his union rep right about now

The guy obviously sucks balls as a pro running back. What smart team wouldn't try to void his contract at this point.

Would have to know more about the situation, but Trent's career in the NFL has been a complete goatfrick.

It's been a shocker. But if it sounds like the Colts are to screw Trent out if his contract. Being shitty is detrimental to the team. But not a reason to not pay him his guaranteed money. Especially considering they traded for him while he was playing like crap.

yeah, he sucks, but so does their offensive line. hard to run when you have to break tackles to get to the los. anyway. its still a contract. so far we only know what has been said by trent (family emergency) vs the colts (first it was personal reasons, then suddenly it was a suspenson, like someone told them over a weekend they can get 3mil back). pretty sleazy in appearance anyway

He sucked with the Colts who have a terrible O-Line.

TR3 had 1375 yards from the LOS in his first year with the Browns.

And he has been absolutely dreadful since that year.

Bad NFL back, talk he doesn't put in a ton of effort. Gonna have to change everything if he wants to be in the league a year from now.

Though I have a hard time seeing the Colts getting away with this. They probably knew good and well they could void his contract by suspending him. Union gonna be all over them...

Sad to see. He's on his way to being another 30for30 prospect.

Maybe he needs to move back to Tuscaloosa for some rehab... ala Ro.

Watching him the few times I have seen him carry the ball, it looks like he has lost all vision and mobility as far as moving laterally and what not.

Nah, unions exist to simply skim money off the top of the employer/employee relationship. He has a contract and laws that protect him regardless of whether he is a union member or not.

dont know that vision or lateral movement had anything to do with it. Colts run power scheme where the hole you hit is predetermined beforehand. In zone like we run at bama the back has several options based on what's happening on the line. Colts line is terrible run blocking, could be that hes just trying to follow the scheme and it doesnt suit him. Also, in power if your oline is arse and doesn't open the intended hole you are screwed.

I know their line is bad and I get the power scheme but just because you have predetermined holes that are closed, that doesn't mean you just fall down when they get to you. Most other good backs can find something at least part of the time. He was very good at this in college. I just think something has changed with the guy.

How do you explain Ahmad Bradshaw going for 4.7 ypc on 90 carries and Dan Herron going for 4.5 ypc on 78 carries as his backups? Richardson was 3.3 ypc on 158 carries. How come the backups do so much better?

Vision was never one of TR's strengths. Where he excelled was making a last second cut to provide an arm tackle he could run through. In the NFL the weak arm tackles are much harder to find.

Didn't stop any of their other backs.

Richardson isn't a starting back in the NFL. He may not even be in the NFL after this season.
