Why not just let them sign when the jucos do?

Good time to do it, IMO. For the kids that don't sign you will know who to go after from other commits at other schools and for commits of your own that you still need to work on to get them to sign.

Nov. was too early. I like mid-Dec.

Been wanting this for a while. Would like it even earlier, but that anything before the season cause issues with qualifications & OVs.

how about a provision that lets them out of the LOI if there is a coaching change?

I don't think it would. If a coach is fired then a kid may not sign during the early period. I doubt many will flip just to sign early.

This came up a few years back. They wanted to implement a rule that would allow schools to sign up to 15 kids on the first Wednesday of December. This would leave most schools with 10 kids to go in their class. They're thinking this will stop kids from de-committing and flipping to other schools.

Would also screw kids who commit to school with coaches on the hot seat.

This, IMO, is a good thing. I also think a provision letting a kid out if a coah is axed is fair too.

They should let them sign at any time after the completion of their JR year.

That would really weed out who is commited and who is not. It would also stop the shady practice of pulling offers late in the cycle.
