how does Mizzou typically do in-state?
I see a few other top guys are committed to Oregon, MSU and Bama.

Well, not a RB.

GP used to be pretty good at getting what he wanted out of the state of Missouri. Since joining the SEC, for some reason, he's really struggled. I really don't get it. Would have thought joining the SEC would have helped in that regard.

Those aren't his season numbers. I think he ended up with like 900 yards or so despite lining up at QB at times. Having said that, we are probably deepest at RB right now followed by depth at DB so personally, I'd like to see the guy work as a slot receiver. If not that, then as a DB.
We just have so many RB's I don't see him being better than 6th, 7th or 8th on the depth chart, unless some transfer because of the log jam. We may lose a recruit to JUCO too. Conversely, we barely even have enough rostered scholarship players to fill out a 2 deep at WR.

That's not the first time I've said the exact same thing.

They say he's a better rb. Also a chance he could get drafted to play MLB

He doesn't have a clue about what he's talking about. Just ignore him.
BTW: Doherty will get plenty of playing time unless he gets drafted and takes the baseball route.

I think Neal wanted him at DB and Neal has a great eye for talent. Took Jarius Byrd from Missouri. I would say Mizzou is better off with him at safety. Most of our starting safeties have played in the league under Neal - Byrd, Chung, TJ Ward, and Eddie Pleasant. Dargan will be next.

He went to mizzou bc mizzou told him he will be able to play on both sides of the ball, while Oregon said just on defense.

He is a good talent and will be a S at the next level.

I suspect that's true. I think he'll come in as a RB because that's what he wants to do but after redshirting will play the following season as a safety. GP won't force him into it but I think he'll see the light.

Mizzou told him that he could play on either side of the ball and that he could play baseball and football!
