Yep, not a very good favored record and I doubt if we covered on many those we won.

Probably has a lot to do with the fact that we can come out and stomp a mud hole in good teams like Auburn and Mizzouri and then lay a fricking egg versus Florida and SC when everyone expects us to win those games.

Doesn't indicate underperformance.

Being favored 3 points in a game gives you a 55% chance of winning. Play enough games where you have a 45% chance of losing, and you'll lose a lot of them. According to [link=(www.teamrankings.com/ncf/odds-history)]this[/link], if you play 25 games and you are favored, on average, 1 TD overall, then you'll win 17.45 games.

I also have a hard time believing we were favored in every game last year. Looking at our schedule, really?

We were 7-5 this year ATS. I think it's a good sign we're favored, because it means we have a good team. I would like an assistant coach who motivates the players though. Joe T gave the pregame "inspirational" speeches every now and then so hopefully we find someone who actually fills that role well.

If I recall correctly Auburn was favored by 3 against us.

Eta: I meant last year

Auburn in'13 was the only game we were a dog...

Favored over Clem. on the road, over Mizzou @ home, over Vandy on the road & over Neb. in the Gator...

We were favored all 12 games this year... the 3 we lost we were favored by 34 points ttl...

As we should have been, we had a better team than almost everybody we played, even with the injuries. The vandy loss was the most inexcusable.

To be fair and thorough, you need to consider how much we were favored by in the games we won, and how much we won by. If we were favored by 100 total points in the last 25 or so games, did we win by 120, 65, 88?

These are fun numbers Dallas, good topic.
