Earlier this week some idiot talking head was trumpeting the Pac-12 South as being as good or tougher than the SECW.

Lets look at the H2H match ups based on current standings, and you tell me where the PAC 12 gets a win.

1's) USC vs. Alabama

Bama wins this easily, by 14 at least and more likely it's a 20 point plus blowout. Bama 34-14

2's) UCLA vs. Mississippi St.

MSU has a really stout front 7 that can get to the QB. UCLA has some decent LB'rs that could give Dak some problems. UCLA doesn't have everything it needs to win. MSU 45-38

3's) Arizona St. vs. Ole Miss

I'm using Ole Miss at full strength in this analysis. This is another case where SEC depth and athleticism wins out in the end. Graham is good enough to keep ASU in this for 2 1/2 quarters, but Ole Miss is one of the better defenses in the country and no one west of I-35 other than TCU, Wyoming, and Utah give a shite about defense. Ole Miss 37 Arizona St. 27

4's) Arizona vs. Auburn

The bigger story is the coaching match up. RichRod vs. GusBus. Arizona hasn't recruited top classes over the past 6 seasons like Auburn has. Auburn 52 Arizona 30

5's) Utah vs. Texas A&M / LSU

Was going to leave LSU out since they're the weakest team in the division, but I'd really like to see a Utah v. LSU game. I'd also like to see a Utah v. A&M game. This is the only match up that the PAC 12 has a chance in. Utah 31 A&M 20 or Utah 17 LSU 14

cellar dwellar's) Colorado vs. Arkansas

If there's been any bigger dumpster fire over the past 3 seasons than Arkansas it's quite possibly Colorado. They had a massive frick up with bad coaching hires, an apathetic fan base, and have a coach ill-fitted for the conference the school is in.

Arkansas 38 Colorado 13

There's no doubt the SEC West would be favored in every matchup. The middle games with Ole Miss and Auburn going against the Arizona teams would be especially bloody. UCLA is #1 in the Pac 12 South though.

I got torn up on Bleacher Report comments (the site makes me laugh) for trying to compare conferences in this same fashion. I tried to be impartial and stated the Oregon-Bama game among others as washes but when it got to the middle of the pack games, which were something like Georgia-ASU and Auburn-Utah, I picked all SEC. Some people took offense to that

Both Arizona teams would beat Ole Miss, Ar-Kansas and A&M
