Honestly, I hate to do this so early, because this season isn't over. We have 2 toss ups, and a gimme left, and 7-5 isn't out of the question. Obviously, that's not where we want to be long term, but it is tangible progress.

But...

Not counting Justin Worley, the TN Vols will return 39 of their 44 offensive/defensive 2 deep.

Graduation - AJ Johnson. Only major loss.

Replaced by Dillon Bates

Graduation - 2nd string RB Marling Lane.

Replaced by Sophomore Darrell Scott and Sophomore Alvin Kamara.

Graduation - 2nd String DT Jordan Williams

Replaced by Kahlil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle, Dimarya Mixon

Graduation - starting nickel back Justin Coleman

Replaced by Emmanuel Mosely or Justin Martin (recruitment still in progress)

Graduation - starting, walk on, OT Jacon Gilliam

Replaced by Junior tackle Brett Kendrick or a TBD recruit.

Has Hendrix been playing more? One of my favorite recruits from the last cycle

Honestly, not really. Reports are that he's there physically, not quite there mentally. He's behind Barnett, Vereen, and Curt Maggit right now, which is a pretty formidable set of pass rushers.

I expect he'll play a more significant role next year.

This is assuming no juniors declare early I'm guessing. If you have a bunch of seniors that aren't even considered NFL quality players will TN be that much better off?

The only real possibilities are Curt Maggit and Brian Randolph, and I think both are a major stretch right now.

The vast, vast majority of our team is comprised of freshman and sophomores.

I've been telling everyone on here for a while that 2015 is the year that the Big Orange giant will finally wake up.

Adding another top 5 class to this young but very talented roster makes me absolutely giddy about next year, especially if we win out.

The only big loss is AJ Johnson but Butch has recruited extremely well at the LB positions.

What was the injury Lane sustained? I was at the game (and haven't cared to get any recaps of the game) so I wasn't sure how serious it was. He rode the cart into the locker room but saw him come out after halftime.

Damn, a very bad South Carolina team handed Tennessee a victory and suddenly UT is a contender.

It's a good thing they didn't give a rope, we'd be over run with cowboys.

GTF off the board. Nobody is interested in what a bunch of insignificant POS's have to say.

I'm struggling to see where I called the 2015 TN vols a "contender."
