Donnan
Overall .678 (40-19)
SEC .625 (25-15)
Bowls 4-0

Richt (last 5 full seasons / equivalent time span as Donnan's tenure)
Overall .657 (44-23)
SEC .650 (26-14)
Bowls 2-3 including loss to UCF

A post I saw on here today made me think "is there really much difference AS OF LATE" so I ran these numbers.

The biggest difference, as rules pointed out, is that Donnan had a losing record to GT

Reasonable comparison. And yes, the later half of Richt's tenure has been significantly worse than the first half. The main difference? Much tougher competition/coaching in the SEC.

Richt's teams played against an uncommonly weak East division over this time span.

Richt wouldn't have either in the last 5 years if UF and UT weren't train wrecks.

Maybe, maybe not. There's no way of knowing that. Also, I seem to remember beating a pretty damn good Florida team in 2012 to win the east for us.

Huh?So you're cherry picking years then you make suppositions on teams that he did beat?

Donnan was a joke and his track record post UGA proved it

Cherry picking years???? I listed Donnan''s entire tenure (5years) and Richt's last 5 complete seasons - a length of equivalent time?

And as far as suppositions go - yes, I suppose that' Donnan played better UF and UT teams than we have in the last 5 years. Big supposition there.

OK,so pick his 1st 5 years then...of corse your cherry picking years,
What are you ,about 14 years old?

Yea ,so let's go back in a time machine and put switch CMR with Donnan and we'll know for sure then! Right?

Are you retarded?

Richt has 2 SEC titles and 2 Sugar Bowls and has come close to a natty three times. CMR >>>>>>> CJD

To ALL : Go back and read the OP all the way through and look at the phrase AS OF LATE, and please digest that. That is why I picked Richts record AS OF LATE and in an equivalent time span as Donnan's tenure. Yes I fully understand Richts body of work is better - of course. The point is that AS OF LATE and IN A SIMILAR TIME PERIOD there's not a lot of difference. Again, I was prompted to look up these numbers b/c of similar comments in other threads.

To my knowledge, Richt isn't running a ponzi scheme. Also, Richt is not quite as dumb as Donnan was.

Donnan beat UCF. Donnan had his teams ready to play bowls: 4-0. He was 5-0 vs Vandy. Leads Richt in federal indictments, also.

Here's another one > Vs ranked opponents: Donnan 8-13. (.381), Richt 8-17 (.320). Both bad with the edge to Donnan.
