It seems like we've regressed back to the Nuss O where we really don't do anything well and just rely on having more talent instead of scheming. It's amazing that we are getting this little of production with the talent we have.

I'll say this though, the QB competition shouldn't be over. Sims legs aren't really a factor and I don't think Coker could be that much worse at decision making.

I agree. Sims has played his way right out of a locked up job.

We really have. I just wonder what can be done given what we have. If we are going to be a run first team then we need to get our o-line in shape ASAP.

As weird as it sounds, Kiffin has a bunch of four and five stars who are functionally inadequate.

Even the most brilliant OC (which Kiff is not, in case anyone thinks i am saying he is) can do nothing if the qb can't be trusted to throw six yards against a halfway decent defense. What would Coach McElwain be able to do with Blake Sims and our o-line?

We've got to be better on short yardage situations. That's on the OL as much as anybody IMO.

I don't like the I formation looks. I don't really like anything we're doing on offense right now

It's a chicken/egg situation.

You have an oline that is struggling against stacked boxes and blitzes because a qb can't keep the defense honest. You have a qb who is struggling because his oline is dealing with more defenders than it can handle.

Chicken. Egg.

That is depressing. I need something to drink.

I also don't think we are calling plays that play to Sims' strengths either. We are trying to wedge him into our offense instead of conforming our offense to him.

This team will lose 3 more games if something doesn't change. I say start putting the young guys in and get them ready for next year. That includes the freshmen corners.

We shouldn't conform our offense to one player. Play someone who fits the offense. JMO.

I agree with that. We need to run some QB draws from spread formations, more bootlegs, and read option.

If we play the freshman corners against aTm they will get smoked.

Maybe.

All I know is Landon Collins, Tony Brown, and Marlon Humphrey are three of the best athletes playing defense in CFB. Athletes cover athletes. Don't get cute. Put a man on a man and let them play, don't force them to think.

Well, we aren't going to be playing Coker anytime soon so using Blake as if he's GMac isn't exactly a smart strategy.

Good offenses play to their strengths. Now Sims might now have many strengths, but I think we have way too much talent to be have only scored three TDs in the last two games.

No doubt. It's hard to have an identity with no offensive line. We can't run the ball, and Sims can't drop back without having to immediately elude some defenders.

Football is not track. Humphrey is not ready to see the field. For all his athleticism, Brown was one of the worst players on the field against OM; same with Collins.

Can we compromise and at least put Hump on special teams? I'm sick at the thought of Henry getting injured like Vinnie did on a meaningless play.

Might as well let him out there on special teams, can't be any worse.
