When leading at the half time. One of the best in-game coaches in the country imo.

Gerry DiNardo at LSU destroyed Nick Saban.

Butch Jones, Close Games, and The Fourth Quarter Comeback

-2007 at Western Michigan: down 31-27 with 1:34 to play, won 34-31
-2007 at Akron: down 32-20 with 8:08 to play, won 35-32
-2008 vs Buffalo: down 18-17 with 14:26 to play, won 27-25
-2008 at Toledo: down 23-17 at start of 4th, won 24-23
-2008 at Indiana: down 34-28 at start of 4th, won 37-34
-2009 at Michigan State: down 27-20 with 7:33 to play, won 29-27
-2009 vs Troy: down 31-19 with 8:01 to play, won 44-41 in 2OT
-2011 at South Florida: down 34-30 with 1:27 to play, won 37-34
-2011 vs Vanderbilt: down 21-17 with 14:03 to play, won 31-24
-2012 vs Virginia Tech: down 24-20 with 1:49 to play, won 27-24
-2012 vs Duke: down 31-27 with 12:45 to play, won 48-34
-2013 vs South Carolina: down 21-20 with 2:48 to play, won 23-21

In comparison, Derek Dooley is 0-25 when trailing at half time and he has 0-17 record against ranked teams.

Butch Jones is 9-1 all-time coming off a bye week

And Jones is 44-2 when leading at halftime.

Doesn't Les have some ridiculous record when trailing in the 4th quarter? I would take that over defending a lead as indicative of in game coaching prowess...

In 2010 Les even won a game trailing AFTER the 4th quarter.

speaking of dinardo. when mack browns fat pampered arse got the texas job he took carl reese with him. dinardo didnt even try to keep him, that was dinardos downfall. cause the first 3 years of dinardo where pretty good, including whipping little nickys arse.

odd that the first time i really paid attention to saban was in a sports illustrated back in 97, had the lsu upset over florida on the cover. one of the articles was on this up and coming coach at michst named nick saban.

I would think that a better indicator of an "in game coach" would be his record when trailing at halftime. That would show his ability to make adjustments. What is THAT record?
