I remember being ecstatic when LSU beat Florida in '97. I went to CCD the next day and it's all anyone could talk about.
Went through it with the Saints my whole life too. You appreciate the good times a whole lot more when you've lived through the bad times.

Well we all know LSU was a mediocre program before Nick Saban got there in 2000.

The 90's were LSU's worst decade for football in a long time. LSU was losing tons of local talent to out of state programs. Dinardo and Kevin Faulk were very important in turning things around and Saban completely solidified the program's standing with in state players and drawing a fantastic coaching staff.
What is your point exactly? Do you feel like Alabama deserves some homage because Nick Saban is currently your coach or something? Where does this weird Alabama insecurity come from?

it's essentially saying they know LSU is an elite program but need to find some way to downplay it instead of just acknowledging what it is. Alabama was used to completely dominating the series, and they hate the fact that LSU has become their toughest game year in and year out. That 5 game winning streak from 2003-2007 didn't hurt either. They were used to LSU shitting themselves against Alabama. Prior to Nick Saban getting to Alabama it was a way of downplaying LSU's success over them. Now that he's there and LSU has still sustained that level of play 10 years later, yes, they believe it some how diminishes what LSU has accomplished. Whatever, doesn't change what LSU is right now. Also doesn't change the fact LSU was a top 10 all-time program before Saban ever got there. It's just an easy troll for them.

It's obvious sarcasm to the posters who actually have paid attention to the numerous threads started on that very topic by numerous Alabama fans over the last 5 years.
