Ole Miss isn't THAT frat friendly. Yes, it's engrained in the culture. It still acts as a call back to the old days. Too much of a call back, to the old image the University wants to move away from. A noose around the neck of the Meridith statue is exactly what they want to get away from...and thus a harsh punishment for the actions of a few.

I'm just saying you have to do some pretty dumb shite to get your frat suspended with what most get away with (not just at Ole Miss). And I could be wrong but I was pretty sure they had another issue not too long ago involving some drunk broad that got them in trouble. Or was that another house?
There were some TKEs up here at UofL that got the fraternity suspended for a year for having a couple white members wear blackface and a black member dress like a KKK member at an off-campus Halloween party. And they like to tell you they're the bastion of racial integration in Kentucky. So it goes on everywhere.

It's troubling how many end up not following these basic rules. Then again, 18-22 year old guys are certainly not known for their good judgement.

Just a correction, the national organization of Sig Ep shut down the chapter. Ole Miss did not.

Ole Miss is stupid for even letting that get out in the media. They could have easily let it slide under the rug... But they're dumb as shite and once again "they showed the nation their racial relation".
