SEC Football Stadium Names.

10 of the 14 SEC stadiums are named after famous alumni/people involved in college football. Why do Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, and Vandy have stadiums not named after donors or historical coaches/boosters? Was there not a big enough donation to name the stadium after someone? Will there ever be a name change in the future?

I've always called Missouri's stadium Faurot Field and it's named after Dan Faurot (coach)

Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium is the home field of the University of Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Missouri. It is primarily used for football. In 1972, Memorial Stadium's playing surface was named Faurot Field in honor of longtime coach Don Faurot.

Faurot is the name of the field, not the stadium. Just like how State plays at Davis Wade Stadium on Scott Field.

I always just called it Dudley, who founded the SIAA. Maybe we are holding out until someone pays for huge renovations?
ETA: I know it's Vanderbilt Stadium. Don't care.

Kentucky is the only Commonwealth in the SEC, stadium is so named for this.

The original Dudley is where the law school is now. Kept the name to the new site.

Mizzou plays on Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. It's named for Mizzou students that died in World War I.
I don't think we'll be renaming it any time soon.

WW I and not WW II?
Lots of the Memorial Stadiums were built the second time around. How old is the building?

It's WWI, built in the 20s.

Vanderbilt Stadium is named for Cornelius Vanderbilt, he donated one million 1873 dollars to Central University and they named the University and later the stadium after him.

By my count ten FBS schools play in a "memorial stadium."

Yeah, Vandy was a directional school.

Army is named for Spanish American war - Dennis Michie. If you have a stadium bucket list, this should be on it.
