Thought with basketball season in full swing and the addition of some new UK folks and non-UK folks this might serve as a useful thread.
First just some quick guidelines for the newbies:
1. While it has it's place on the Rant, this is unabashedly a UK centric board and trolling could result in your removal from the board. This doesn't mean constructive criticism isn't allowed. I think most here know the difference. And as usual, SEC Rant.com Rules/Guidelines also apply.
2. If you have issue with a post, hit the Request Admin button and we'll do what we gotta do.
3. 40-0 t-shirts are not allowed.

And if you'd like, feel free to post a short intro about yourself. I'll begin:
I'm Belle. A lifetime Louisvillian and was fortune enough to have parents who raised me right as a UK fan. First memories of UK are listening to Cawood on the radio when you couldn't catch them on TV here for reasons we shall not talk about. Also have grown up a long-time UK Football fan. Pookie Jones won my heart and there was no turning back. I work in education, counseling not teaching. I usually spend my time off traveling (Oxford, MS has been a frequent spot as of late) and spending time with my family and friends.
Welcome to the board and hope y'all enjoy it around here.

Everyone knows who I am already. They've already formed an opinion too.

Ladies are 4-0 right now, so just saying 36 more games to go!
UK is hosting for the first time ever, the regional will be in Louisville, and the Final Four is in Nashville. Seems like destiny awaits.

I'm a lifelong UK fan and grad. I worked for the University on two different occasions as well. I live just outside of Lexington. I'm a bigger football fan than basketball fan, but don't tell the Rant.
Had season tickets for years, and our adopted son was on the team from 2007-2011, but we let them go after he graduated.
Favorite in person football memory: Beating LSU in 2007, Commonwealth was rocking, and watching Hershel Walker in person.
Worst in person football memory: Tie between the BG Miracle and Chris Doering.
When I was a boy scout we got to go to the games and stand in the upper deck looking out for the patrons, and calling for help if someone needed it. I don't think they do that anymore, but it was my earliest memory of attending games.

My name is Bama Bird and I'd like to be your friend. I'm now in the twilight of my Undergraduate career at The University of Alabama and I'll be entering Law School next fall. My two favorite things in life are college football and classical music. I don't get to talk about the latter very much on here so, by all means, let me know if there's a fellow fan on here (mostly mid to late Romantic works).

I might also add if you're going to talk shite about UK and especially UK fans and expect to keep access to this board, you're sadly mistaken as well.

AirDawg here! Thanks for adding me, I work in contract administration and love college football. I was born and raised in Georgia and cut my teeth on Herschel Walker when my Dad took me to see my first game between the hedges and I fell in love with football.
Stay classy Belle!

Thanks for the access and here is to a good game on Saturday!
Edit: I am a Mizzou grad who lives in Kansas City, MO. I also hold two other degrees from colleges around KC. I have family that lives in Shepardville, KY but they are Louisville fans. My aunt used to teach at UL.
I went to Lexington last time Mizzou played and I enjoyed my time and the UK fans were very friendly.

Thank you for allowing me to post on your board. I look forward to congratulating you guys on kicking Alabama's butt in basketball. The game seems to always fall on my dang bday But seriously, I was pulling for you guys to win the East in football, and I'll pull for you guys to go undefeated except against Bama in basketball. Here is to a good Basketball season for both programs.
Ps. Bama needs prayers

Thanks for letting me join the Kentucky Board. I am a UK graduate in Civil Engineering with both BS & MS from there. My dad (rest his soul) worked there and my sisters are UK grads as well. I grew up on stories of Rupp and the Bear told by my dad and my uncles. I was in the WMB and learned to sing On On and MY Old KY Home as well as a few songs about UT and UGA that can't be sung in polite company. When working in Eastern, Ky & WVA & western VA in the 1980's I used to find a place in the motel parking lot where I could tune in WHAS and listen to Cawood on game nights. Now my wife and daughter are avid CAT fans and hate Duke, Tennessee, UNC and Louisville with appropriate levels.
