Holy cash cow

USC spent nearly $19.7 million on Lincoln Riley in his first year as FB coach, school's new tax return shows. It was almost $10M in base salary for 2022 and over $9.6M in "other reportable" pay, likely connected to buyout that USC paid Oklahoma:

I've told y'all many times that USC is rich.....very, very rich.

They hired the defensive coaching staff from hell this off-season, I'll give them that. The administration and boosters apparently are all in.

I think part of the deal was USC had paid for his house before he got on the plane. That’s probably the bulk of the “other reportable” pay

Are we supposed to feel bad that your school is too broke to afford him?

So far, Lincoln hasn't come close to Oklahoma glory. Year 3 and if his defenses play like the last 2 seasons, he's a goner. So he has no choice but to get it right.
The trouble has always been that his offenses are the type that still doesn't do any defense a favor, regardless of personnel or coaches. You have to have some sort of TOP in your offense or you are going to gas these guys in the 4th quarter. Riley, better learn that lesson sooner than later. He's going to have to play to his defense for the first time in his career.

Didn’t they agree to buy his family a house in his contract? Which ended up being a mansion worth upwards of $5 million?
