Andy might be too conservative for them. Not in his principles, he’ll be whatever they want him to be, but he has walked a fine line in Kentucky, courting Trump supporters and pitching himself as an old-school democrat.

His record on energy and gun control isn’t going to appeal to the loonier parts of the left. He might defend it by pointing to the fact that the senate and house in Kentucky are overwhelmingly Republican.

To be totally honest, as a Kentuckian, I don’t actually dislike Andy all that much. The state seems to actually work better with a Republican Congress and Democrat Governor. Andy is a lot more political than his dad, though, so he’ll fall in line if push comes to shove.

He will be eaten alive by the extreme left. Everything he tries to use to show he is a moderate will be used against him and if he tries to move left he will no longer be that southern “moderate”. The moonbats control the Democratic Party now days.

Well he did shut down churches and kept open liquor stores during the pandemic. That did not go well with old school democrats, especially the bible thumpers. He only got re- elected because he ran against a black republican, IMO. Kentucky ain't ready for that. If he was a D, it would've been a landslide victory.
