Now I've heard everything...

LINK

A ridiculous rant about how if UGA would have been beaten Bama then they (FSU) would have played UGA in the 'matter bowl'. "We're not going to play y'all in a bowl that don't matter. That's a waste of time." (he opted out of the bowl game).

Soooo....you bailed out and threw your team in the meat grinder to get shredded, and its all Ga's fault...riiiiight. Idiot.

I realize I come from a different generation but I'm competitive enough to want to win no matter who I'm playing and no matter where I'm playing. I don't care if my team hadn't registered a single win. If I'm coming into a game, I am going to attempt to give it my all.

Tough talk from a guy whose team finished with a whopping 1 victory over teams who finished ranked. In week 1 vs LSU.

Healthy QB or not, FSU played a joke of a schedule and had no business being in the top 4. That guy is a bitch and should be allocating his bitching towards the joke schedule he played and not another team.

I was pretty much neutral on FSU before we played them in that Orange Bowl, but after all the whining and excuse making from their bitch arse fans and players after getting completely assblasted I totally understand why Florida people completely loathe these cocksuckers. What a soft arse program and fan base. If they wanted to prove they belong, they should have played better. Bunch of quitters and frauds. Keep them out of the SEC. Not needed.

The one difference is that if he would've played in the matter bowl, he would've gotten his arse kicked just like he did in the didn't matter bowl.

Agreed.

It’s one thing to take something like an online game less seriously, but to bail on a bowl game and then blame the team you’re playing for bailing?

It’s interesting that you never hear about how players used to sit out bowl games back when national titles were given before the bowl games even happened…

Because they didn’t.

He is just trying to make his team seem special beneath that 60 point arse whooping. Didn't work, did it?

The dirty little secret is that had FSU Played UGA and FSU had a fully healthy roster PLUS every all American that has ever matriculated at FSU at the height of their football abilities UGA would win 9 of 10 games by double digits. FSU 100% healthy was at best, being very friendly, 70% of UGAs.

Its culture. Bobby Bowden set the tone when he opted for the ACC and not the SEC...and he publicly admitted why the decision was made. FSU has an opportunity to use it as a learning experience....UGA did the exact same thing in 2018 and lost to Texas. The players and coaches at UGA did not enjoy that experience and changed the culture. Subsequently UGA has pretty much showed up for don't matter bowls because ALL games, hell all scrimmages and practices and team meetings, matter because you are working together as a team to get better and, in the matter of an actual game, doing what you worked your arse off your entire life to do...play a game you have to love to play at all. I bet FSU does change that part of their culture. UGA did it. It can be argued that Alabama either has done it or it never needed to, and the latter speaks louder than anything given the success of Alabama.

There is more to being a champion than being physically better and better prepared than your opponent. It is a state of mind....its character...a sheer determination to succeed no matter how trivial your task is. Most people do not have it, thats why being a champion at anything is universally admired.

it happened to Alabama when they played Oklahoma in the 2014 Sugar Bowl.. Oklahoma smacked them pretty good.. idk if OU was just better than year or if Alabama didn't want to be there though..

If you look at Alabama specifically you find kids from the same generation as those at FSU who share your view. It is a culture of being champions, not just winning it all in any given year. It is not possible to play football for very long, at any level, without loving the game. It is completely outside the realm of common human experience to do what football players do to their bodies...outside of the game it would be considered INSANE. Those kids or young men who opt out are missing some of that. They have to be. I am certain some of them do not come to the decision to opt out lightly, they have played an insane game at a high level because they love to play it....again, it is required...otherwise you don't perform. Many of them probably struggle with the decision...but they make it...and it speaks volumes about their priorities. It is an individual choice and no one should judge but it is indicative of a less than total commitment to your team and the game that is a BIG part of football.

UGA beats FSU last year with FSU completely healthy 9 of 10 games by double digits. Across the board, at nearly every position and position group, FSU is lagging UGA in talent and depth. Throw in experience in big game atmospheres on game day but more importantly the month leading up to it and there is NO comparison....FSU was in a terrible spot with the opt outs, they were in a bad spot no matter what.

Don’t think it has a lot to do with the generation. Georgia’s players are from the same generation, but apparently the culture of FSU’s program just attracts a weaker individual.

The thing to consider is this. FSU did not field their scrimmage team. They fielded a team of players who had been in their system for at least one season. UGA would have beat that team by double digits playing the same level of their roster. UGA is simplye more talented and has more depth...and developed, ready to go depth....which is a result of being uber talented and deep. FSU is not on the same playing field as UGA in talent, depth and developed ready to go depth. It is also doubtful FSU has the talent in coaching and therefore preparation that UGA has...and they certainly do not have the recent experience in prepping for and winning meaningful games in December and January. UGA would have beat them in a similar manner to how UGA beat TCU....

That game changed the culture at UGA....the impact of that game is a big part of how UGA won a second national title and was damned close to a third....it instilled the heart of a champion into the culture at UGA. Texas did UGA a HUGE favor....

Whichever one it was the aftermath has been a pain in the arse for anyone not Alabama LOL....

Anyone who doubts that coaches use such games to get more out of practice and prep Monday - Thursday, when games are won, does not have much experience playing football. I would bet that Norvell and company has the bowl game on every monitor available and reminders of that arse whupping anywhere they can place one.

I thought the 24 Orange Bowl didn't exist? I mean that's what their rings say!
