1)Spurrier
2)Saban

Spurrier took a Florida program that had never won an SEC title and made them a powerhouse that was feared. Saban took over a bama team that had been in the top 10 two years before.

Saban took a shitty lsu program to a national championship and propelled the program to heights never seen.

Then dominated at Bama.

Saban hands down.

And 2 losses. The football world had to stand on its ear to give them a chance to make that happen, and did….

Stallings had 70 wins in 7 seasons.

1 national title, 1 SEC title, 4 SEC West titles.

Only lost 1 bowl game at BAMA, his first year.

I think Tubs and Spurrier's accomplishments away from Auburn and Florida are overlooked in these conversations.

Ole Miss was on a very punitive probation when Tuberville took over and he was able to go 25–20 under those conditions to include finishing in the AP Top 25 one of those 4 seasons. Ole Miss was the last team to receive a TV ban because of these NCAA sanctions I believe.

Aside from his last year at CoSC, Spurrier had the Gamecocks competitive the the entire time, which included when Fulmer, Meyer, and CMR in the east. He took USC to their greatest level of success since 1984, and had them playing in the SECCG.

Miles averaged over 10 wins per for over 10 years, and on with a Chip, and conference chips...

Georgia hasn't lost a regular season game in three years. If the Dawgs run the table next year they will have won three of four national titles. That would make Kirby a strong second and closing in on Saban

Meyers 6 seasons at Florida are not better than Kirby’s 8 seasons.

To get in the same conversation as Saban, any coach (including Kirby) needs success over an extremely long period of time. If Kirby has 3-4 additional national titles over the next 10-12 seasons, he'll be in the conversation. But that's the level of sustained success it will take to get there.

Saban had 5 years at LSU and 17 at Alabama. He had 7 national championships and 18 10+ win seasons in those 22 seasons.

Kirby has 8 seasons under his belt at UGA. He's got 2 NC's, but he's got to get 5 more in the next 16 seasons to legitimately be on the same level as Saban. It could happen, but that conversation is a long way in the future.

What he legitimately can accomplish in the near future is becoming one of the top 10 college football coaches of all time. With one more NC he joins the group of now 15 coaches who have 3 or more national titles and he'd legitimately be in the discussion for top 10 coaches of all time.

With 2 more national titles in his career he joins the group of now 6 coaches with 4 or more titles.

With 3 more national titles, he'd be behind only Bear Bryant and Nick Saban in terms of championships.
