My favorite memory is the day he retired.

Hearing him say, when they showed a picture of williams brice stadium from the blimp, coming back from a commercial break...
"Williams Brice Stadium, a beautiful stadium surrounded by parking lots"!!
Ha..I died laughing with that nugget.

2009 Arkansas vs Florida in Gainesville.
Ryan Mallett threw a bomb downfield to Greg Childs. Child’s caught the ball and ran downfield and was tackled.
Verne,s reaction was, “but did he catch the ball?”

When him and Danielson were both screaming, What are they doing!??" During the time running out when Les Miles had LSU hike the ball, expiring the clock.

Even though my team was on the wrong end of it, Verne's call of the UF-South Carolina game winning field goal block in 2006 was pretty good stuff.

"It's Goosebump time everybody, It's Ole Miss and LSU."

The day he stopped broadcasting in the SEC was my favorite Verne memory.

His call at the 2011 LSU-Alabama Football game....."And LSU remains undefeated" as the winning field goal was kicked in overtime at Bryant Denny Stadium.

Ron Franklin would still be around if some production chick could suck it up and not complain about the name “sweet cheeks.”
It was the first official DEI firing on record.
Ron always call us the Fighting Texas Aggies. He knew his audience and played them well.

That was a fun game. Everyone in the stadium - at least everyone dressed in Georgia colors - was dancing. Even Verne

Can't recall a favorite Verne moment, but Keith Jackson will live forever calling his last national Championship game..#1 USC vs #2 Texas, 2005 Rose Bowl. Not only the most compelling National Championship game, may be the best CFB game ever just due to the off the charts media hype of USC that season. Was also on terrestrial Network TV so even poor people living in the boonies could watch as long as they had an antenna on the roof.

Listening to him call Bowling for Dollars on Channel 8 in Dallas as a kid.

The time Greg Child’s caught a pass and ran for for a TD against Florida. He fumbled at the goal line (after running with it for about 70 yards) and Verne questions of its incomplete.
