Brian Kelly rumors: Texas A&M insider suggests LSU coach could pursue possible B1G job opening
quote:
Brian Kelly is not yet 2 full seasons removed from leaving Notre Dame for LSU. According to one college football insider, though, there is some chatter about Kelly potentially leaving for another job.
Texas A&M insider Billy Liucci, who broke the news of Jimbo Fisher’s firing, recently appeared on “Pregaming the SEC” with Jacob Hester and Chris Doering. While talking about possible landing spots for Fisher, Liucci brought up a potential move for Kelly.
“There’s a couple people in coaching that told me, ‘Hey, watch out for Brian Kelly. He’s not a perfect fit there in Baton Rouge. He might be pursuing that Michigan job if it comes open,’” Liucci told the show.
Liucci added that he thinks LSU AD Scott Woodward would keep Kelly from leaving for another job. Woodward was formerly at Texas A&M, hiring Fisher away from Florida State.
Harbaugh has been the head coach at Michigan, his alma mater, since the 2015 season. There has been speculation that he may seek a return to the NFL after this season. Harbaugh was 49-22-1 in 4 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, including a trip to the Super Bowl.
The Minnesota Vikings interviewed Harbaugh for their head coaching position on Feb. 3, 2022, National Signing Day. This past NFL offseason, Harbaugh interviewed virtually with the Denver Broncos.
Harbaugh is currently serving his second 3-game suspension of the 2023 season. Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reported Saturday that if Harbaugh returns to U-M, he could be suspended for the bulk of the 2024 season.
For now, Kelly and the Tigers are focused on Georgia State. LSU is 7-3, looking to win their final 2 regular-season contests and pick up a 10th victory in a bowl game.

20 years at $15 mill per, fully guaranteed.
Keep that baw locked up.
Woodward playbook, doubled down.
ETA: Yes, people, I know Woodward did not sign the extension.

How bad does Baton Rouge have to be for someone to say, "Boy, I sure do wish I was in Michigan right now."

Are you implying that saying outlandish garbage makes you intelligent? I would be Albert Einstein if that's the case.

I’m no Liucci apologist, but I think scumbag is a little strong. Plus, what he’s built at Texags is pretty impressive.

Yeah, I don't get this place. It is a bunch of small peened haters and most all of them, (not surprisingly) tote the LSU tag.
All these guys (Liucci et al) throw controversial content out hoping to get someone like the OP cranked up and amplifying the message. Folks should think a little bit and not be useful idiots.

Looch had a spectacular defense of the ridiculous Jimbo extension in which he basically just said that everyone making fun of A&M was "scared."
Then he later pretended that LSU had offered Jimbo $15 million per year to further justify the ridiculous extension.
Dude is a massive sunshine pumper who just makes things up and Aggies pay him to read his bullshite.

He is trying to stop us from raiding their recruiting class and current roster by putting doubt in the kids minds. Bushleague by a supposed professional to make up stories.

Liucci doesn't know anything and is grasping at straws. He is locked out of this coaching search because everything on his site is common knowledge within 30 minutes of being posted.
He will find out a few hours before the choice is made public.

People also forget that Looch reported the details of Brian Kelly's contract as 10 years, $114 million like two days after Kelly was hired and was quickly proven wrong.
He then deleted all of those posts.
He just makes things up.

To be fair, he wasn’t that far off.

I'm no fan of the guy, but he's built a sizeable and lucrative business where all he has to do is follow college football.
Lots of folks on here spend sikilar amounts of time on CFB, and we don't get paid a dime for it.
Credit where credit is due.
