It's too late to trade Fried. Players with one year of control don't usually fetch much relative to prospects.
I've been mentioning on R/Braves that they needed to trade him since last season. I think the guy is a bit of a headcase, and he's quickly losing any claims to a Frontline Ace starter.
He wants to live out west and the fanbase has been delusional about an extension.
At this point with Strider down it actually makes more sense to keep him, and hope he doesn't get an upset tummy, or a blister finger come playoffs.
Braves have a lot riding on AJSS and Hurston developing this year.

I don't disagree with you about Fried.
Lopez has been a dog this season so far. Wonder if he can muster 30+ starts though? It'll be fun to see.
Something has to give though. Strider is probably done. 2 UCL repairs. Not many guys come back and flourish after that. Adding that curveball probably wasn't the best thing on his elbow. Why you tinker with 99mph and that Wipeout slider is beyond me. Hopefully he can come back. I wouldn't bet on it. Maybe a couple seasons in the bullpen as a set up guy or closer to ease him back in?
The Braves are definitely in win now mode with this offense. The Phillies have proven that with 2 great starters and a mediocre bullpen, a team can make a deep run with the right offensive pieces. Maybe the Braves sacrifice some offense for starting pitching? But who?
