It all falls on the head coach and his coaching choices...to me it started with Pruitt, when he left after 2 years for the TN head coach job, yes it was a very big step up, something every coach worth his weight strives to achieve, but I'm sure Saban warned him of the situation at TN and the pitfalls he would be inheriting and Pruitt jumped headfirst...then Saban was put between a rock/hard place with the next DC promotion/hire(can't recall his name) because he was a great recruiter who Saban didn't want to lose, but probably had showed promise as a coach to get the DC job, while also hiring Golding as linebacker coach, who got promoted mid year to DC because the first hire was shite...kept Golding sorry arse far to long cause he was tired of the coaching turnover.
Same thing on the offensive side of the ball with Kiffin inner child getting him shite canned after the Washington PO game, then Sark leaving in 20, taking Flood, Milwee, and another grad assistant(milroe was Sark qb after Maye decommit)...enter Bob and Marrone...Bob was decent but knew he was leaving after his 2 year commitment, Marrone just cashed checks for a year and set the Oline back 5 years...Saban did a weak hire in Kentucky online coach and now Rees, so Alabama is currently at the current clusterfrick of the offense its putting on the field.
