Arkansas lost its top commitment for the Class of 2025 on Monday when Marion (Ark.) two-way lineman Carius Curne went public with his decision to reopen his recruitment. Curne's announcement comes less than two months after his commitment to the Razorbacks (Feb. 7).

According to 247Sports, Curne is the nation's No. 183 overall recruit, 21st among all offensive tackle prospects, and the No. 1 overall prospect in the Natural State for the Class of 2025. The Composite rankings also list him as a four-star, 122nd in the nation, No. 11 among all offensive tackle prospects, and the top-ranked player in the state.

Curne was recruited to Fayetteville by Arkansas defensive line coach Deke Adams and newly-hired offensive line coach Eric Mateos, though we believe defense was Curne's expected position in college.

Arkansas lost a key piece of its recruiting class on Monday as four-star offensive lineman Carius Curne de-committed from the Razorbacks.

After committing to Arkansas on Feb. 7, Curne announced his decision on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Curne, who ranked as the No. 206 player in the country according to Rivals in the class of 2025, holds offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and others in addition to the Razorbacks.

The Marion native committed to Arkansas after taking a visit to Fayetteville on Jan. 20. He saw Ole Miss a week later on Jan. 27.

With the loss of Curne, Arkansas now sits with four commitments in the class of 2025.

Curne is the No. 138 overall prospect and No. 7 IOL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Arkansas.

On3 ranks Curne higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 85 overall and No. 5 at his position in the 2025 On300.

Curne took a visit to Ole Miss at the beginning of February just before he pledged to Arkansas. Over the weekend, he was in Baton Rouge visiting LSU — which currently possesses the No. 2 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Razorbacks lose a key 2025 pledge
With Arkansas losing a commitment from the No. 1 player in its state, the Hogs are now down to just four commitments in their 2025 class — which ranks No. 33 in the nation and No. 12 in the SEC.

Saint Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter College Prep four-star running back Jamarion Parker is now the top commit in Sam Pittman’s class. He is just outside the top 300 of the On3 Industry Ranking and is a top-25 tailback and top-five recruit in Missouri.

“It started with visits to Arkansas two times during my freshman year,” Parker told On3 upon his commitment. “Now I have been there five times. It is always great there, I feel comfortable, and I love it there. It is not too far from home and it is fun going back and forth. Just being on campus feels right. The coaches make me comfortable and the atmosphere is a lot like mine at home.”

Parker is one of two RB commits for Arkansas, as he’s joined by Atlanta (Texas) three-star back Markeylin Batton. He pledged to the Hogs in January and rounds out the class alongside North Little Rock (Ark.) Central Arkansas Christian three-star quarterback Grayson Wilson and Bay Saint Louis (Miss.) St. Stanislaus kicker Evan Noel.
