I believe these types of injuries are a large contributing factor as to why Kelly is contributing big bucks to give LSU better recuperation equipment such as hyperbaric oxygen chamber, etc. that would help to shorten recuperation times.

Its at least 8 months best case scenario to be full go post ACL. This is no surprise.

And for a 6-5 315+ lb guy, too. Not being there for the spring was expected. Get him ready for the summer/fall via extensive rehab.

That sux. That was one of the smallest celebrations that I've ever seen tho, minor to most of the "look at me, look at me" celebrations that are the norm now.

But for all of these other over-the-top celebrations...what's that old coach's saying, "Act like you've been there!"

Was he unwise before?

@drexyl He blew out his ACL celebrating. That's not very wise.

It was a freak accident - blaming him for it is dumb.

If you weigh 225 lbs or less, you can jump celebrate. If you are heavier than that, just pump your arms in the air or something.

All players need to see this. Make a tackle go back to the huddle. Everyone saw you make the tackle.

All this celebration for needs to be curtailed.

When a man’s career is put on hold because of a jump celebration.

Everyone I watch football with is confused why these guys get excited for a tackle. When high fives and butt slaps do more for teammates that more than likely created the matchup for your play. You should be chest bumping and thanking teammates for youre opportunity to make a play

Dude…. It was a freak injury. The chances of something like that happening are extremely slim. It’s ok if players celebrate a good play they make, that’s part of what makes the game fun. Getting pumped up with your boys. Hate it for Smith but come on man. Relax

This happens all of the time doesn’t it. We should definitely avoid celebrations and jumping.

You do know he was celebrating a good play by his teammate, right?

Didn’t an NFL kicker year his ACL from celebrating a long while back?
