Dutch speed skater Sjinkie Knegt and his middle finger have some history. Here he is getting disqualified from the 5,000-meter relay at the 2014 Sochi Olympics for flipping double-birds at the skater who beat him in a qualifying event...

On Saturday, he took home the silver medal in the men’s 1,500-meter race, and wouldn't you know it, that looks like a bird in his right hand, no?

According to The Korea Times, he says he was not intentional...
quote:

“It looked like I put up the middle finger. It’s not intended … I just looked very bad in the photo, but it was not on purpose,” “I was just holding the medal.”

This is just trying to find something out of nothing. He is using his index finger to hold the medal. If he was in fact flipping the bird, you would be able to see the knuckles of for sure his ring and probably his pinkie finger.

Aren't the Dutch pretty progressive? Pretty sure they poked fun at Trump saying that their country comes first... So a dutch speed skater flipped off a minority?

Pic is hard to tell what the ring finger & pinky are doing to claim it's only the middle finger.

I think the real sort here is why are they giving these guys stuffed animals instead of real medals?
