Actually you know OP is right. We should pump the “breaks” til the qb has good stats like a madden game, otherwise the win doesn’t count.

Rodgers was everything people accused Jameis of being today!
Sorry I meant THIS thread is aging like a shite sundae on Louisiana asphalt

Turnover prone QB

Horrible overthrow and super careless pass in the red zone when pressured.

That QB shoulda stuck to Jeopardy.

Eating a W today…

:whodat:

Some people have imagination… and are ble to extrapolate things based on things they’ve seen.

Like for instance seeing Jameis win with talent at FSU, or play well in spurts in Tampa.

Or watching Payton manage to win with Bridgewater off the bench with no preseason to prepare.

Or understand that when the defense and running game are great, the qb doesn’t need to throw for 300 yards

Maybe i should be cheering for the alaskan assassin
all you yahoos crying about picking him... think he might get a couple of open 3 attempts with the new lineups?

Maybe similar to what McDermott got (3/42)

I mean that's a yes.
It just depends on the price. If it’s less than 12 and it doesn’t cost a first rounder I’m in.

Define playmake

I've watched a lot of bulls games. The role that his coaches have been using him has been totally wrong-- he's a good decision maker and a good passer.

He's had 3 head coaches in 4 years, Hoiberg, Boylen and finally Donovan. The Donovan move coincided with Lavine's usage going WAY up. And like Donovan at OKC, the bulls were over-reliant on 3 guard line-ups, and then Vucevic.

I like Satoransky too. Both can help. Markannen is exactly the type of player that should be playing next to Zion.

quote:

Literally 0 points scored or taken from three involving more than one dribble. Over 90% of his overall shots involved two dribbles or less. 75% no dribbles.

We don't need players who can dribble. We need players who can catch and shoot. But Markannen CAN shoot off the dribble.

And you need to understand how much role and fit matters when it comes to what players do and are asked to do. Markannen is a good passer.

yeah the last thing the Pels need is a 6'10 shooter who can playmake and nail 3s.

As I said there can be 1 or 2 changes for small ball vs big ball but the basic lineup stays the same. It’s usually the center that’s being swapped out. I hope they figure it out and we can really make some noise because we have added two players with real talent in JV and Graham and we have two more young guys in NAW and Hayes that if they keep developing are going to be giving teams hell. We are close to being a problem in the west.

You need to think of this team as Zion and BI, and then three players who will play around them. They'll have groupings.

This team is the Clippers who trotted out multiple lineups around Leonard and George.

quote:

just don’t think you can really do that and expect to be a contender.

I'm not pitching "starting" lineups because it doesn't matter.

literally every contender has big and small ball lineups. It doesn't matter who starts; it matters who finishes and in what context-- what the other team is doing and what you can do to matchup with them.

Small teams are going to run JV off the floor. It happened in Memphis and it will happen here. The Griz mitigated this by benching him and playing Jaren Jackson Jr at 5 when he got healthy.

The Lakers are going to start Gasol or Howard. That doesn't change the fact that AD is going to play 5 in crunch time with Russ, Lebron and either Monk/Ellington/Nunn

Sometimes the Hawks run out Capela, and sometimes Collins is the small ball 5.

The Nets best lineup had Durant at the 5. But other times they started Jordan.

The Bucks ran out Giannis at the 5, but against big teams they had Lopez.

Today's NBA is about flexibility and ability to play a lot of ways.
we're in an era of changeability. The Pels need to have options for all of the different teams and lineups they'd want to play

quote:

PG: Graham
SG: Ingram
SF: Zion
PF: Markkanen
C: JV

This is a great lineup against teams with a big C, Philly, Denver, etc.

quote:

PG: NAW
SG: Temple/Satoransky
SF: Ingram
PF: Zion
C: Markannen

But JV can't, won't and shouldn't play against all teams. That would be like a small ball switching lineup where the shortest player is 6'5
quote:

I think we could put Temple against our MLE (taking him out of the Ball trade). We could then add Markannen and Gabriel to the trade. I think that may get it done (but not 100% sure). I certainly would not give up a 1st. I would just give them back their 2nd and some cash to cover Gabriel. I would not want to give Markannen more than $12-$13 million a year though.

this would be win win win

Markannen has had the exact same situation that people ACCUSE the pels of putting Ball through. Different coaches, different systems. He's a great playmaking big and he's only 23.
Markannen would be a great big lineup 4 or small ball 5
