it looks like they're addressing/adding the drainage as they make their way down each side adding a new curb. Eventually it looks like they'll asphalt over the current road base. Absolutely absurd that it's been almost a year with this god-awful road....
In-laws recently did this. As one poster said, biggest constraint was the time it took to get to destination. We packed it the day after it arrived at house #1, it took them 3 weeks to get it delivered to house #2 which only gave 3 days to unload before they came pick it up. Otherwise, would have...

re: What's Tree Removal Cost These Days?

Very much depends on location. My parents in Colorado pay $100/tree, down in BR going rate can be anywhere from $1500-2500 depending on size....

I had mine sprayed by the EBR mosquito abatement crew this week, haven't seen much change in the evenings. Those mutant frickers are still in attack mode....
I just got a similar notice and quote for renewal. They last treated it in the beginning of 2018. Weird timing on their retreatment schedule. I thought it would either be 5 or 10 years....

re: Computer Printers are a Scam

We got a new HP printer earlier this year. Ran out of the initial ink and the mfer now says we HAVE TO register for an ink delivery service in order to print a sheet. I ordered new ink from amazon, installed it and still get the message. About to toss it all in the garbage. ...

re: existing Exterior wall insulation

We have a house around the same age. Previous owner had someone fill the cavities with blow-in insulation. From the looks of it, they could core out a 2" hole in the siding between each stud cavity and blow up the the cavity til it was full. I assume they did the patch on the siding afterwards? N...
Assuming "cavity tray" would be the flashing, then yes you want to add flashing to help any water that gets behind the brick exit the wall without sitting on top the lintel and rusting it out. Definitely want weep holes in the first course of brick at every 4th brick joint (24" on center). Flashi...

What's the height to the bottom of those 2x4s? Code will require minimum 80". You'd do better with 2x6s if you have the head space. 2x4s even spaced closer will still feel bouncy. What's your plan for the plumbing to the toilet and sink? You'll be busting into your exterior grade beam for the sin...

what in the photoshop are you complaining about?...
Mine is pretty good. I still get the occasional spider chilling in the corner between wall and ceiling...
how many times we donna do this?...
my initial thought was that they were gassing the cleaners in that chamber before sending them up the stairs and that would take a certain amount of time to kill them. Then they would fire the chamber after the cleaner would leave to burn off the gas. So in the end it was the tape keeping Nichol...

re: Mounting a tv under a mini-split

Make sure you keep that drain line clear though. Mine has clogged in the past and that SOB will rain inside if it's a high humidity time with a clogged line. No other issues I foresee especially since newer TVs produce little to no heat....

Mini-split Issue

Posted by modes on 5/11/23 at 11:36 am
I have a 1-year old minisplit that has started to ice over and make loud click/pop noises when in cooling mode. Filters are clean, would I be looking at a freon issue or something else?...
