After months of debate Auburn is going to replace the dying trees at Toomer's Corner with new oak trees. Auburn's Gary Keever has been caring for live oaks since they were poisoned and expects the trees will die soon. The massive renovation project could begin in 2013. Keever said...
quote:

"I would say based on how the trees look now, in the year 2013, this plaza will be totally redone and one or two large trees will be replanted," "They would not be able to be rolled immediately, need to allow three to five years for them to reestablish."

Yep. Welcome to Alabama....where football fans are unsportsmanlike and kill trees to make a point.

good news is they only roll the trees after wins. There might not be much opportunity for that until after 2013.
