Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long has been named as the first-ever selection committee chair of The College Football Playoff today. The announcement was made over the Playoff's social media accounts, with Long appearing in this accompanying video...

Here's a little info on Long...
quote:

"An Ohio native, Long served in the athletic administrations at Virginia Tech and Oklahoma before replacing Steve Pederson as athletic director at Pitt in 2003. Long then took over as AD at Arkansas in 2008, and drew plaudits for first his 2012 firing of popular head coach Bobby Petrino over Petrino's motorcycle accident cover-up scandal, and then his (eventual) hire of Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema as Petrino's replacement."
