Speaking at the 2015 SEC Media Days on Wednesday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban said he is not in favor of the current timetable in which underclassmen receive feedback from the NFL regarding their projected draft standing.

According to ESPN, Saban considers it a distraction towards the end of the season as players prepare for bowl-games.
quote:

"You're talking about a young person who has to deal with a lot now," Saban said at SEC media days in Hoover, Alabama, on Wednesday. "We had six guys in this situation last year and 11 the year before. So we're trying to get ready for a game, and then all of the sudden a guy finds out he's a first-round draft pick or a guy that thought he was a first-round draft pick isn't a first-round pick, and we're trying to get ready to play a playoff game.

"I think that it would be better not to submit that information to a player until he was finished competing in college. We've moved the draft back [from April to May]. We have not moved the date that a player has to declare back."

@SABANrulz1 It may not hurt the NFL but it could hurt the players who are making important life decisions. He wants to act like he's all about the players but this is just another example of how he is only worried about himself.

Trying to act like it's doing the players a favor by giving them less time to decide.

Just more of his "the game should be about what I want and not what's best for everyone else". Let's just make a rule stating that Saban has to do a better job keeping his players heads in the game instead of making rules about what his players can worry about on their own time.

I've lived around enough of them and I'll try to translate for you.

I think he's saying that anything Saban says is gospel and should be treated as such.

I believe he has the heart beat of collage football ply offs and its not happening at UA but any school lucky enough to be one of the 4 selected, It would not hurt the NFL to wait a few weeks anyway.
