LSU starting safety Rickey Jefferson is expected to miss a significant amount of time after he broke his fibula during practice on Wednesday. Per The Advocate:

Rickey Jefferson, a senior starting safety, broke his fibula at practice Wednesday and will miss significant time, a source told The Advocate. His recovery time is not known, but Jefferson will undergo surgery soon on the fibula, the outer most bone in the leg that runs from the knee to the ankle.
Junior safety John Battle is expected to step in and replace Jefferson. Senior defensive back Dwayne Thomas will also see more playing time at safety.

Damn, Rickey was productive this year. Heal up for the combine. This sucks. Next man up, D. Thomas is experienced and lets see how Battle plays.
