It was announced on Friday that Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding was leaving Alabama for the same role at Ole Miss. Here was Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin's reaction to his own news...

Golding is terrible. I was hoping he'd stay at Bama. Saban wasn't going to fire him.... at least Ole Miss got worse.

no one leaves Bama for the same job at Ole Miss. That's a big step down for Golding, and not a great hire by Kiffin.

I don't understand why he wanted Golding

He's a great recruiter if nothing else. Glad he's gone from Alabama, but this is not a bad hire for Ole Miss IMO.

Bama recruited itself, I guarantee that Golding only had to talk about the brand.

Is it poaching if bama is happy?

Now this is funny. Sabans best selling job ever may be getting Ole Miss to think they got a good coach. Seriously, Lane can't be that stupid...or I guess he is.

Nick said look- and Pete said ok- and ole miss thinks they stole one- what a joke

Stupid comment, Saban would have ridden Golding to his end.

Sad bait, Lare. Kiffin is a very unserious person, costs $10 mil, and could barely beat Harsin. Well done, Auburn.

Kiffin is an immature asshat. Troll on Twitter while Saban and Kelly are fighting to go to Atlanta. Good job on “poaching” a coach bama forced out lol

Could be good for both i guess. Bama fans def wanted him gone. But that doesnt mean he has to be a bad hire for OM.

Think about it from Golding's perspective...stay at bama where good to great is never good enough and your boss may not be around for much longer or go to um where you will have some stability due to expectations and a coach that just signed a long-term extension and based on performance probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Not to mention that his family would probably prefer to be in oxford than tuscaloosa. Just something to think about.

Now SABAN will actually poach a DC probably the one at UGA

Saban never "fires" anyone... even Lane already had another job when he was told to go ahead and leave right before the NC game (probably cost Bama another NC). But for anyone to remotely think Golding made his own decision is hilarious.
