Just prior to getting fired by Tennessee, Jeremy Pruitt hired former Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele onto the Vols' staff. Steele signed a two-year contract worth $450,000 per year, that was fully guaranteed. Pruitt gets canned and Steele is Tennessee's interim coach for two weeks before they hire new head coach Josh Heupel. Now, Steele will most likely not be unretained by Heupel and will collect a $900,000 check on his way out the door. So, that all worked out well, no?...
