Florida's Will Muschamp Out At End Of The Season

Florida head coach Will Muschamp decides to step down.

Florida announced on Sunday that Will Muschamp will not return as Florida's coach next season. He will coach the team's final two games this season, and then step down. Per ESPN:

"I was given every opportunity to get it done here and I simply didn't win enough games -- that is the bottom line," Muschamp said in a statement. "I'm disappointed that I didn't get it done and it is my responsibility to get it done.

"I have no bitter feelings, but this is a business and I wish we would have produced better results on the field."

Muschamp is 27-20 in four seasons, 17-15 in SEC play

This opening will draw the biggest names to the table. Including current NFL coaches. Tons of money, plentiful recruiting base and it's in the SEC east which is a lot easier to win then the west, so same amount of respect nationally with half the effort.

"I've always said that our goal at the University of Florida is to compete for championships on a regular basis. Coach Muschamp was dedicated to developing young men both on and off the field."

I know that Foley didn't mean it this way, but that reads as if those are two opposed objectives: a choice between a championship team full of scumbags (a la Jimbo Fisher) or quality, decent individuals who win slightly more often than they lose.
