Florida's Jim McElwain Regrets Tirade On Kelvin Taylor

After laying in to his running back Kelvin Taylor with a verbal tirade on the sideline, Florida Gators coach Jim McElwain expressed some regret on Monday for the way he handled the situation. Per ESPN:

"I'm not proud about it, and neither is my mother," McElwain said Monday at his weekly news conference. "I don't feel good about it. As you know, this is a very public job. This is a public thing that we do. I understand that I have a long ways to go and I make mistakes. ...

"Am I proud of it? Absolutely not. Do I feel bad about it? Yes. At the same time, I've got to understand my mistakes as well and learn from it and go forward."

Despite the regret, McElwain still demoted Kelvin Taylor from first to third team on the depth chart Monday.

Florida heads to Lexington, KY this weekend for a matchup against the Wildcats.

PUBLIC arse chewings are not good for recruiting. I, as a parent would like to see a learnable moment instead of a senseless tirade. McElwain was right to admit his mistake.
