ESPN is reporting that Florida and Idaho will not reschedule last Saturday's season opener which was canceled due to bad weather.
quote:

"We looked at a number of options and, in the end, we both thought it was in the best interest of our student-athletes and football programs to play out the remainder of our respective schedules as they stand," Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said in a statement.

In its release, Florida said ticket refunds will be made, and the schools agree to play each other in 2017.

Florida will fulfill the terms of the contract between the two schools and pay Idaho its $975,000 guarantee by February 1, 2015, as outlined in the agreement.

LSU actually played 11 games in 10 weeks and 5 days in the aftermath of Katrina and Rita back in '05.

In other news, Florida Athletic Director Jeremy Foley announced that the check to Idaho will be minus the cost of cardboard boxes and a contract with Mayflower Van Lines for embattled Gator Head Coach Will Muschamp, pending Florida's 5-6 finish to the 2014 Football Season.

This is a total embarrassment for Florida. Both teams have an open date on the same weekend. Florida would have to play 8 straight weeks, but I seem to remember LSU playing 10 or 11 straight weeks during one of the hurricane seasons.
