Danny Kanell Trolled Alabama While Congratulating Them
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN college football analyst Danny Kanell has been antagonizing the SEC for weeks. Even after Alabama won their 16th National Championship on Monday night, Kanell congratulated them...with a backhanded dig...

Kanell is referring to this Sports Illustrated article that argues that seven of Alabama’s 16 titles are disputable.

That article doesn't even say that all seven are disputable. 1941 is absurd, but the ones in the 20s and 30s were recognized as such at the time in the papers, even though there was no official system, i.e. the AP & UPI. It's not like the AP & UPI came up with/created the idea of a "Natonal Champion" all by themselves. They were merely formalizing something that already existed, particularly in the case of 1925, when the Rose Bowl was the only post-season game. Bama can give up 1941, but they should also be given the 1965 title that was gifted to Notre Dame because the national press hated George Wallace, which is a whole other story.

Don't think Kanell's trolling here...he's talkin' 'bout titles in the poll era and Bama leads the way with 11. ESPN was flashing that number up several times last night...
