Alabama is trying to shut down 4-star offensive lineman Brandon Kennedy from playing for another SEC program in 2018. The Crimson Tide has reportedly denied Kennedy’s initial appeal. Per AL.com...

Alabama denied offensive lineman Brandon Kennedy’s initial appeal to transfer to another SEC school on Monday, sources told AL.com.

Kennedy, who decided to leave the Crimson Tide program in early May, is hoping to join either Auburn or Tennessee as a graduate transfer but is still blocked from even having contact with those two schools as well as any other SEC schools and any future Alabama opponents.

The next step for Kennedy, who graduated in December, is an in-person hearing with Alabama’s appeal board.

I think its wrong that graduates cant transfer wherever they want. They gave 4 years to the commited school and earned their degree. God bless, if they want to play elsewhere and still have eligibility, they should have unrestricted ability to do so. Interesting that he could transfer to Georgia or LSU and that would be fine.

If the player graduates, then that's the school keeping up their end of the deal. The other end is the player is supposed to play football...and yet you are saying because the school kept up it's end, the player should no longer be obligated to what they signed? That doesn't seem....backwards to you?

Players are on one year scholarship deals and one year only. The school and more specifically, the head coach, holds all of the cards with respect to their future. Once they graduate, the options of a player with eligibility should be completely in the players control.

So what? There's like hundreds of colleges that have football that he could go to, just not those two arch rivals. Like... Florida, UCLA, Michigan, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, freaking Hawaii etc. Go literally anywhere else but those two.

Looked it up. Between the NAIA, NCAA and others, there's 774 Universities and colleges that sponsor college football. So that 771 schools that he is more than welcome to transfer to.

Uh, he wants an education from a different institution. Lots of people who go for graduate degrees transfer Universities to diversify their learning experience. It has nothing to do with football or idiotic fan rivalries. Only a moron would not see the value in variety of your education.
