Shittu is averaging almost 3 more rebounds per game than the next closest SEC player.

Think he's gonna keep that up?

No, I think he will slow down a bit, especially now that Moyer can cut into his totals some...

Nothing official beyond "out indefinitely". I saw something unofficial saying 4-6 weeks, but it was likely just idle speculation. Fingers crossed hoping for the best!

Update: He's out for the season. Damnit!

Kent State Stats:

Name Pts/RBs
Shittu 20/8
Toye 15/6
Lee 13/5
Ryan 8/5
Evans 8/4
Nesmith 5/6
Moyer 2/3
Wetzell 2/2
Garland 2/0
Brown 0/3

Garland went out with a knee injury just 2 minutes into this game. Still should have won if not for 59% free throw shooting (16-27), primarily Lee (4-8) and Evans (1-4). Have to improve on that!

120 points is the most VU has scored in a game since 1970!

That's one way to respond.

Yep. Maybe Garland's absence will cause the others to step up quicker. One good thing is that Saben Lee is a more natural point guard than he was a 2. Hoping Nesmith comes along faster with more playing time too.

Breakout game for Wetzell! We'll be a tough out if he keeps playing like that - gives us a strong 9 player rotation!

Hard to believe that Wetzell played 25 minutes and couldn’t manage to grab a single rebound...

Tough start to the SEC season: home loss is never a good thing, but shooting 59% (17-29) from the line and 30% (6-20) from 3pt will do that to you.
